For a while the world of Nintendo was closed off. No characters from different universes could interact with each other. Samus and Link would never meet. Mario would never see a pokemon, and so forth. Until a new world appeared. This world was known as the Dojo. Or to some the Smash world. Whatever it ws called things would never be the same in the world of Nintendo.

Portals appeared everywhere in the various worlds, all transported the characters that entered them to the Dojo. Hundreds flocked to the world eager to explore. A group their now as HAL was in charge. They would take in about one hundred entrants, for a tournament of sorts. Within hours the sign up sheet was filled. The plan was set in motion.

The day came when the lucky entrants would be excepted into the stadium. Their however they would be tested. While one hundred entered only twelve would stay. The world of Super Smash was growing fast and soon would be ready. However the twelve would be needed first.

It was morning. The one hundred who had been allowed into the stadium were ushered into a large room. Sunlight shone through the roof, as a man approached from behind a curtain.

"Welcome to the Dojo! I am Sakurai, and I lead this land and control everything here. Even though you stand here today, does not mean you will stand here tomorrow. One hundred stand before me now. In a few minutes only forty-seven will remain."

The crowd began to chatter as they were worried, happy, disappointed. They all knew something however they could be going.

"It is time for you to leave."

Sakurai raised both of his hands and a ball of white light appeared. It floated above the large crowd and flashed twice, then vanished. A bit more than half of the crowd was now gone.

"Now with that done, I shall reveal why you are here. Your worlds can see what will soon be happening. A sport or competition will be held here in the coming weeks. A battle that will test you all on everything. Now for example in this world you can do things impossible in your own world. Or at least semi impossible. For example."

He lifted up a hand and Mario floated up. He then motioned towards him and Mario floated over.

"Now Mario you can't shoot fire or use a cape without a fire flower or feather. Correct?"

Mario nodded.

"Well then shoot a fireball, then swing your cape."

Mario shook his head.

"You say you can't? Do what you do with a fire flower, but without the flower."

Mario threw his hand forward much like when throwing a fireball but nothing happened.

"Try again this time actually imagine the fireball."

Mario threw his hand forward again, and this time a small tiny ember came out, but it was an ember none the less.

"Good job. Later a list will be given to you, giving you your brackets for the tournament, where you will train, and your room. Each bracket will have eight participants, and their are six brackets. First and second in each will move onto the next round. Their is one more thing before you all go however. Listen to your trainer if you want to succeed. If you don't then you will fail. Now enjoy the rest of the day."

Sakurai left leaving the remaining characters the day to explore the realm of Smash.

Mario awoke to see the bright sunlight coming through the window into his room. A piece of paper sat on the desk next to his bed. He grabbed it instantly knowing what it was. The brackets for the coming tournament.

He was in the very first bracket. He was facing somebody named Zelda. He had met her last night while wandering around. She came from Hyrule so he didn't know much about her. The only person he really knew was Toad. Toad was against somebody known as MH.

I wonder who that, I hope Toad can beat them.

The remaining four were Pit against Falco then Jeff would be against Jigglypuff. He got up to go meet his trainer, hopefully he could figure out how to use fire.

*****

"Your doing great Pikachu, keep up the good work!" shouted his trainer.

Pikachu was against somebody named Weavel, who was supposedly really fast and strong. Pikachu was currently doing an agility drill. A powerful yet fast treadmill was rotating rapidly while Pikachu ran on it. However Weavel had used the treadmill earlier. His time to finish the course was two minutes and twelve seconds. Pikachu's best so far was five minutes and forty-two seconds.

"Pikachu take a break, we will continue in a few minutes."

Pikachu stepped off and sighed. Weavel was the fastest here, with Pikachu being second. If Weavel was nearly twice as fast, he could wipe the floor with Pikachu, so a plan was needed.

It was late afternoon by the time Sakurai made the announcement, but nearly everybody already knew. Pikachu had shattered Weavel's course record on the treadmill. Pikachu had finished in a whopping twenty seven seconds.

Sakurai told everybody that in this world they were all mostly equal unless they could reach their true power. That was what the training was for. Very few had reached their full potential the first day. Weavel, Pikachu, Diddy, Kirby and Wolf had supposedly reached the best they could be. However they were encouraged to continue training.

Everybody was exploring the world currently. However it wasn't much. More like a large village. Weavel was currently looking for Pikachu, he wasn't one who liked to be showed up. He soon came upon the mouse.

"Pikachu come here."

The yellow mouse walked over slowly, Weavel had a sort of cruel tone in his voice.

"Nobody shows me up, especially here. You better hope you can keep running for a long time, because in our battle I'll kill you if I catch you."

Weavel then turned around and walked off.

"What was that about?" asked the large psychic pokemon Mewtwo.

He said if he catches me in our battle, then I'm dead.

"I wish I could help, but I have to face Luigi in an entire bracket, so I won't be much use. Why don't you talk to Sakurai about it?"

Only you can read minds and I can't really talk so it wouldn't do much.

"You think the man who created an entire world and linked a bunch of worlds together wouldn't be able to understand you?"

Your right I'll try talking to him, maybe Weavel will get taken out and one of the others who got taken back will be able to take his place.

"I doubt that will happen, but he will most likely have something over you to prevent Weavel from doing anything really serious. I believe he was going to the inn to find somebody so you should check their first."

Okay thanks Mewtwo, see you later.

*****

Soon enough Pikachu found Sakurai. Even up close he still had the power that he showed while talking to everybody. Pikachu ran forward and tapped Sakurai's leg gently.

"Aah hello Pikachu, how may I help you?"

Its about Weavel, my opponent in the tournament.

"Yes what about him?"

Well he threatened to kill me in our match because I beat his course record.

"You have nothing to worry about. We have taken all precautions and no deaths are even capable of coming near here. The worst can happen is a couple of bruises and scratches. Never fear we wouldn't hold this without it being safe. Is that all?"

Yes thank you, I'll sleep tonight.

"Okay thats good." now if you don't mind I have business to attend to.

Sakurai left and walked up the stairs heading towards somebodies room.

*****

The sun was beginning to set over the world of Smash, as Pikachu returned to Mewtwo and the other pokemon in the tournament.

Hey guys I'm back and everything is fine. Sakurai said that the worst injury we could get is a couple of bruises and scratches.

"Thats great, now have you heard of Meta-Knight? Red is fighting him next week."

Yeah I've heard his name but haven't seen him. Don't know anything about him, ask your trainer tomorrow if you don't find out.

"Yeah I will, thanks Pikachu."

The one question in nearly everybody's head was where would they fight. There was no area that they could use. Sakurai however had everything thought of. He told the group how they would fight. But they would be the ones to choose where.

"I'm sure you have all been wondering there you will battle each other? Well it is actually your choice."

Sakurai clapped his hands and a light neon blue human shaped creature appeared out of thin air.

"This is Tabuu and he will explain everything."

Sakurai stepped back and Tabuu floated forward.

"Welcome. Now I'm sure you have all been wondering where the battles will be held? Well thats why I am here. I have the power to create special reas that can copy the area and bring it to me. Your job is to pick a location from your world and I will copy it and make it fit for battle. Now on the paper in front of you write the name of the location. I will then collect it and get things ready for you."

Tabuu clapped his hands and paper and pencils appeared.

Soon the locations were handed in and everybody was sent off to train.

*****

The most notably thing for many was the new powers they had. Luigi could shoot himself like a rocket, Fox could boost up in a fiery burst and Captain Falcon could use incredibly powerful attacks. Currently though Red was having much trouble. Managing three pokemon at once was tough. His Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander were powerful they just needed to work together. If they couldn't work it out then they would lose. The tournament was starting in about a week, he had to hustle.

The day was here. The first match the end of your personal training. You had to train on your own time now. The tournament had begun. Half a bracket would battle a day. Mario would fight Zelda, while Toad fought Master Hand. Those were the two battles for the day. Everybody was brought into the main room where they had received all their announcements. Today however the room looked different. A stand filled with seats had taken the place of the stage, and now A large battlefield was revealed. Tabuu and Sakurai welcomed everybody in and the tournament was about to begin.

"Welcome and Congrats! You have all done well to make it here. But before the battles start a few things are needed. The seats you sit on will be transported to the location of battle so you can see the battle. Blue walls will surround the field. Touching means you lose a life or stock. You have three. The matches will be held in a best out of three format so good luck. Now the first match is between Mario and Zelda. Tabuu choose the stage."

The blue creature flew into the air, and warped everybody to an area in the Mushroom Kingdom.

"Welcome to the Bob-omb Battlefield!" shouted Tabuu.

Mario and Zelda stood on a large mountain, with large boulders falling down the slopes. Large bubbles were also shot as well as the occasional Bob-omb.

"3...2...1...GO!!!" shouted Sakurai.

Mario ran forward but was hit in the face by a floating ball of fire. He went back a bit but not by much. Another flame came from Zelda but he rolled past it this time. Up close he jumped shooting his fist out creating a clinking of coins as the punch connected. Mario went to shoot a fireball, but Zelda quickly reflected the ball with a diamond shaped blue shield.

"You've got to do better than that to win Mario." taunted Zelda.

This time Mario jumped up high then came down spinning like a tornado. The attack came out of nowhere and caught the princess of guard. She went flying, but landed firmly. A ball of water came flying at her, but she was able to reflect it at Mario who was hit and knocked off the edge. He was able to recover however. This time a bomb came flying. He pulled his cape out and knocked the bomb back at Zelda. The explosive collided and she went soaring. Mario ran forward and jumped into the air, and smashed his fist into Zelda as she tried to recover, but Mario's attack was to strong and she went shooting down like a stone, and hit the blue wall below.

Her body soon came back unharmed, but missing a stock. The battle continued on Zelda had reflected a orb of water than hit Mario and she then knocked him into a blue wall. They had both been hit with a stray bomb and flew in opposite directions. Both however hit the blue. Zelda and Mario would each lose if they touched the blue.

Mario shot a fireball and ran forward jumping over Zelda's fireball. Zelda managed to hit Mario with a full charged smash, that sent the plumber flying. He was able to pull away from the blue and save himself but not by much. He had a different plan this time. He ran forward and grabbed the princess, and spun here around and let go. She flew quite far, but not enough to touch the blue wall, however when she tried to recover she fell short and fell to the blue below. The first battle ended giving Mario a win, but in order to proceed he would need one more. In whatever location Zelda had chosen.

Tabuu began to change the location from Bob-omb Battlefield. Soon the group found themselves on a modified Hyrule Castle top. Two large pillars with platforms were on the left and right. A slanted roof was on side while a drop to another level was on the other where a small alter stood.

"Welcome to Hyrule Castle Roof!"

Mario looked around. Wind would occasionally blow across, but nothing to strong.

"3...2...1...GO!!!"

The two already knew each others attacks from the previous match, but the field was much different. Bob-omb Battlefield had basically been one large platform. While many areas were accessible here.

Zelda jumped up and began to climb to the top of one of the pillars. Mario began to climb the other, however Zelda was planning something. Mario reached the top and was hit with a large fiery explosion that knocked him off the pillar. Zelda's Din Fire had been carried by the wind and hit Mario straight in the face. The plumber began to fall off the pillar but was able to slow his descent by spinning around rapidly. Zelda dropped down and pulled out a small bow, and fired a single arrow that shined with white light. Mario hit square in the chest and sent flying onto the slanted roof. He stood up, and was about to launch a fireball but was hit by another arrow. He fell back, and began to fall towards the blue below, but shot his fist up giving him momentum and he was able to grab onto the ledge and pull himself up.

Zelda was at the edge but Mario was ready this time. She shot and arrow but Mario swung his cape and the arrow flew back towards Zelda smashing into her. Mario ran forward and grabbed her throwing her off the edge. The plumber then ran forward and smashed her into the blue wall.

Mario flipped his cap in the air and spun around catching the red hat. Zelda dropped down and with her foot smash it into Mario's head then threw him up into a very powerful burst of wind that carried him into a blue wall of oblivion.

After a short time though Mario had a life remaining and was cornered by Zelda. She rushed him, and smashed a magic enhanced fist into Mario, but he rolled around to keep himself from falling and generated a large fireball in his hands and than smashed it into Zelda sending her flying into the wall, and giving Mario the win he needed.

"Congrats to Mario the winner of the his battle. Zelda you will be returned to your seat in the stands. Mario tomorrow you will be facing whoever wins the next round. Good Luck, you will now be returned to your seat."

Mario and Zelda were whisked away, and Toad was brought forward. Master Hand appeared out of thin air beside Toad.

"The next match will be between Toad and Mas...Master Hand." Sakurai seemed to be troubled. His face voice and whole posture changed when he uttered Master Hand's name something was wrong.

"We shall head to the location Master Hand has chosen. Final Destination." Tabuu then changed the stadium into a large place in what looked like outer space, but then a large structure appeared. It was completely flat with no platforms. It was quite simple in design.

"3...2...1...G..O." mumbled Sakurai.

The crowd say why. Toad ran forward to attack the large hand, but was smashed into the floor and tossed around like a limp doll. Within seconds Master Hand had destroyed Toad, and won the first match of three. Toad never landed a hit. The large hand even though it didn't have a mouth it wasn't needed. Dark and malicious laughter could be heard emanating from the large hand.

"The next location is Toad Town Square."

They transported to the large square. Buildings were abundant. A shop, Inn, much more but it wouldn't stop Master Hand. Within seconds Toad had lost again, however he had landed one hit on the giant hand it wasn't much.

"The winner is Master..Han..d." Sakurai weakly said. "Tomorrow Mario will fight him to see who will move into the finals. Now enjoy the rest of your day."

Sakurai quickly left with Tabuu not far behind. Something wasn't as it should be in the this world. Master Hand had something to do with it, he was never seen in the town or training or anywhere accept for announcements. Something big was up. Very big.

Mario stood in front of Master on Final Destination, trying to avoid the hands viscous attacks. So far Master Hand had one win Mario had zero. Mario had two lives while the large hand still had three.

Mario ran forward to avoid Master Hand slapping the stage, and then leaped into the air and spun around dealing some damage. Master Hand floated up, and aimed it fingers at Mario then fired off fiery bullets that sent Mario careening towards the blue wall.

Mario had a single life left as the Hand prepared for its next attack. But it never came. Out of nowhere a floating orb appeared. Master Hand struck it a few times but nothing happened. Mario hit it and the ball shattered. A rainbow aura of energy surged around Mario. He then released it in a massive storm of fire. Two streams of fire spun forward creating a tornado that engulfed Master Hand. However when the flames resided the hand floated their still looking unharmed. But looks can be deceiving. Mario ran forward and struck Master Hand with his fist. The large glove then exploded as it began to grow weak and Master Hand then collapsed, unable to move.

Mario had one win, while Master Hand did as well. However one more battle was coming before anything would be decided. Mario had a chance, but he would need to be very careful or he could find himself out of the tournament.

Tabuu slowly floated forward, a small white orb in his hands. A black mist was floating around the orb.

"This orb here contains my powers but has a different function. I can choose whatever stage the combatants will use, the orb however will choose from any of the random stages put forth. In the event of a tie this orb will be used to decide on the final stage."

Tabuu slowly lowered himself down, and placed the orb on the floor. Tabuu floated back, and the orb slowly began to glow. The white light removed the black mist, and the whole world began to change. Everything looked like it was melting away to reveal the last area of combat.

When the stage had finally come forth, a sickening smell lurched forward. They stood in a large dark chapel with a large glowing portal. The smell of rotten flesh was present as they looked around, to see walking corpses.

Tabuu floated forward once more, and spoke.

"Welcome to the Dragon Gate."

This time Sakurai came forward. Slowly he began to speak.

"I wish you both good luck in this match and that for the loser they have had a welcome experience. Now on with the match. 3...2...1...GO!!!"

The battle began with a flash. Master Hand zoomed forward and flicked his finger at Mario who jumped above the large hand as one of the corpses shot an arrow at a blinding speed that struck the airborne plumber in the back sending him careening into the floor. He weakly stood up and was caught this time by a magic spell cast by a different corpse. Master Hand was floating in the air, signaling Mario to come and try an attack. Mario stood up weakly once more and ran forward. He heard a twang, and something was whistling through the air. A glint of metal in the air was caught.

Mario jumped back as the arrow struck the ground. He looked up at Master Hand who shot an orange barrage of explosives from his fingers. He rolled past them and ran forward this time ready for the arrow. He pulled his yellow cape which had an old unwashed smell to it, and waved it in front of his body. The arrow was caught and went flying back at Master Hand, who was struck with the black arrow. Mario landed on the ground, and jumped above a giant axe swung at his feet. Mario prepared for the next attack hat he saw coming. A swordsmaster ran forward and jumped over him, then dashed forward cutting strait through Master Hand.

The white glove wasn't expecting the attack, and was left open for Mario. The plumber came in and slammed his fist into the hand. Mario landed and was up in the air a second later smashing his fists and feet into the hand as much as psychically possible.

He landed and was struck in the chest with an arrow and went flying back. He stood up and was about to run forward when he was struck again and flew into the blue wall. He returned in seconds but this time the blue portal began to flash Red light began to breach the blue. Suddenly a giant fireball came out of the portal and struck Mario. The attack was so intense he went into the blue wall for a second time.

He was so close yet so far. Master Hand was different from everybody. He didn't use the same live system as Mario won the last match without having Master Hand touch the blue wall.

A huge roar exploded from the now red portal and giant red dragon came rushing forward. It shot fire and clawed at everything. The bodies were mauled down and shredded by the massive claws. The dragon then began to glow. A vibrant orange and crimson. Mario jumped into the air and struck the hand once more before the dragon exploding in a cataclysmic fiery rage. When the smoke cleared they were back in the world of Smash. Master Hand lay on the floor burnt and unable to move. Mario crawled out from underneath the hand.

Before the explosion he had jumped underneath Master Hand, he was so large if at a certain angle he would block the explosion, Mario has won the battle by using the large now burnt glove as a living shield.

"Congratulations to Mario!!!" Sakurai began shouting madly, as he had obviously not wanted Master Hand to win, and the hand had been beaten Mario. Sakurai announced the combatants for the next day, and once again gave congratulations to Mario.
