For a series of contests for the visual renewal of PMF, we will now move to the second round, the contest of skins. The winning logo design (first round) was this one by Ilex: Posted Image Posted Image The skins should be submitted by the end of January. The following are some guidelines for the skinners: - The skin must be centralized on the screen. It may be either of adaptive size or fixed to fit in an 800x600 screen as the current one is. - The skin does not have to be green, but the colors cannot clash with green. Other items may be mandatorily green. Different base colors between skins are encouraged. - The skin should not call for specific button styles or patterns. Neutral buttons and icons will be used. - The skin does not have to but should feature the logo in some subtle way. - Simple and clean-looking skins are preferred. - Some submissions should by light-toned while others may be dark-toned. - Some submissions should be made in pixelart fashion, while others should not. The method of creating such pixel skins is left to the discretion of the skinner. Please post if you will be making a skin and state your planned color, tone and whether it will be a pixel skin. Variety is encouraged in all three aspects. The submissions will be polled. Up to four skins may be selected for a Skin Switcher. I hope this contest goes better than the last. In submitting a skin, you will be granting full usage rights to PMF in the case it is a winner. Do not submit if you do not agree to these terms. |

I think that means it can't be animated. So it has to be 100 by 100 px? And what do we need to do for the smaller image? |

For the 100 px one, is the 100px a minimum or a maximum, cause it seems to be interchanging within the first post. Or I'm retarded, but I'm hoping for the first. And I can't possibly fit anything in a 25x25 box without it looking boring. Why do we need the small one? |

It doesn't have to be perfect at 25px. If you're going to use your logo, you're going to end up using it on small images/items as well, so it better be recognizable when small. 100px is the exact size it should be for the submission. That's 100px in the largest dimension. (So for example, if it's something long but not tall, it should be 100px long and proportionately tall.) But you need a version with at least 100px on the small dimension for if your design wins. (When scaling images, the bigger the original the better.) |

©2007 - capsLOCK. My logo, for the 100px one, it's PMF in text, with the circle on the P being a lime. On the 25x25 one, I can only fit the lime. But just the lime, doesn't represent PMF.. |

Lex, your's would be good if you had more of a differential from the end of the paintbrush and it's handle, same with the tail, it's not obvious as to what it is. It shouldn't have to be the one colour, so you can change that, so long as it's green shades. |

Some reccomendations for the two current submissions: @ Phizz: Just remember the logo should be a single solid color, so you'll have to get rid of the coloring on the Pencil. And coincidentally, I was going for something like that myself. @ Ilex: The small version is perfect clear, but the big one seems to be very jagged. I could only tell what it was when I say the small version. Try making it smoother. |

I'm sorry, I've remembered about this, but only when I was busy and then when I wasn't I forgot. Because there was only one complet submission and because I like it very much, I will declare Ilex's design as PMF's official logo prom now on. Congratulations, Ilex! I will add the winning design to the first post and update it with information on the second round of visual renewal. |
