OOC: Might as well start it now, might give people a good reason to start signing up. XD

Doze's eyes finally started to adjust to the deep darkness. He kept staring ahead at the iron bars that kept him from the outside world. He felt like he had been in a deep trance, because he had no recollection of his life before this point. He felt calm and confused at the same time. The small storage room never felt so lonely, but he knew their must be others like him, alone and depressed.

Doze had started to examine his body. His face, his hands, his body all felt alien to him. The extreme heat had only made things worse. Doze had just noticed a dull light coming from behind him. He whirled behind him and saw a long tail with a bright flame burning strongly.

"What the?" Doze said in surprise. "How could my tail be burning without me feeling any pain?" It doesn't matter now, he thought. I have a way out.

He turned his back to the iron gate and started shooting embers out if his tail, hoping that the bars would eventually melt...

OOC: My first roleplay post I've ever done. Hope I did good.

Frhidae...

I am Frhidae.

But where am I?

The world under my feet...

He stopped and checked the ground below him. He had feet.

Drifloon do not have feet.

Something is wrong with my body.

If I could see my reflection...

He noted a large piece of broken glass.

Staring at this, he could see his form was changed. It was like he had been inflated like a balloon, forced into his shape by a man in a circus's will. He had legs, and a thin torso. His body looked like that of a Scyther.

Wait!

What happened to the Scyther I have seen before?

I vaguely remember... I vaguely do.

Doze wiped off the perspiration on his forehead. He had been sitting for ten minutes trying melt the thick iron bars. His focus was unwavering, he could tell that it was getting close to being almost breakable.

Doze cringed, his head started spinning and a terrible pain coursed through his body, then everything went blank. A scenery had started to form in front of him. He was looking up from from someone elses point of view, but he couldn't remember who. A group of humans surrounded him wearing matching clothes. Doze was lying on an operating table. He began to think this was just a dream, but he changed his mind almost instantly. He had started to feel the emotions of the thing that was laying on the table. His chest was heaving and panic was starting to build up inside of him for no apparent reason. His head turned involuntarily and he looked on in horror. A dead Monferno was lying on the operating table next to him.

Doze's eyes snapped open. He was trembling with fear. The scene he had just saw was real, that much he knew, but why did he have that vision he kept asking himself. What did it have to do with me? He questioned. These thoughts were put away as he returned his attention to the metal gate. The iron were almost string-thin pillars, he could easily get out now. Lifting up his hand he raked his claws across the bars snapping them and leaving an opening for him to get out.

The small pokemon weakly opened her small eyes, taking in details of the world around her. She couldn't remember anything... Who was she? All around her, she saw grey, so much grey... She was in a cube-shaped area, and the floor was very cold... She saw bars of a slightly darker material nearby, and beyond them, more grey. She walked up to them, nudging them slightly. Also cold. What were they?

Bagel. A word floated around in her head. What was Bagel? She strained to remember. An image of something round, with a hole in the middle, popped up in her head, but quickly vanished, along with vague memories of a slightly burned taste. That was Bagel... But not the Bagel that had popped into her head, she somehow knew. My name... She searched her head, and eventually found the answer. She was Bagel. But what was she, really?

Swinub. Another word appeared in her head. This time, Bagel strained her head, but got no idea of what Swinub might be. A pokemon... She got that far... Swinub was a type of pokemon. But why was it so important? She curled up in a corner, thinking. Me... She finally decided. She was a swinub, a pokemon. But what were swinub, really?

After a few more hours, deep in drowsy perpendment, she finally got an image in her head of something brown and fuzzy, with narrow eyes and a big nose. That was her, she supposed. She sniffed the air. Yes, she had a big nose. She opened her eyes. Yes, she had narrow eyes. But a memory popped into her head, of some sort of fluffy warmth. Fur... Warmth... This time, the answer came relatively quickly to her head. But she did not feel warmth. Bagel did not feel fur. What was happening? Before she could figure out, she heard a loud noise. Footsteps... A last thought entered her mind, before she felt pain, and all went dark.
--------------------------------

As she woke up, slowly, she realized she had a throbbing pain in her head. She felt weak... She dared to open her eyes. She was looking up... Why was she on her back? It wasn't comfortable. She tried to move, but realized she couldn't. She then noticed strange, pink creatures, staring at her... So big... Humans. The word floated, more clear this time. They were humans.

She decided to look around, near her. She was on some sort of table, and it was covered in a color... White. Then, she saw the other site, something totally bizarre. It was the same size as her, made of metal, but with two slits in its form- It didn't appear to be alive or dead. She then saw something reflected in its shiny steel, but before she could concentrate, it was over.

--------------

She opened her eyes. The pain was gone... The grey was back, the endless, plain grey... What had happened? Dream... The word floated in her head, and it was strangely reassuring, though she had no clue what it meant. Then, it was pushed out by another word. Memory. But she had no memories... What was happening?

OoC: No, Bagel isn't incredibly stupid, she was just very badly affected by the anesthetic during the operation, due to her small size. And yes, she was fused with a toaster. She's a cyborg now, I guess.

Doze was pacing in the dark storage room. He didn't know where the exit was, nor did he know if there was anyone else in this maze-like room. Huge cages made rows upon rows in this dugeon. They were stacked up on top of eachother and strange enough almost all of the cages had open gates. Even more creepy some cages were still shut with corpses hidden in the dark depths of the miniature prison. The room had a stuffy smell of death and decay. Everything in this dismal place had long since escaped or died of starvation or worse...

Doze's attention was soon turned to a place about four rows north of him. He had just heard a door creek open and slam shut. Doze wanted to go investigate, but with what he had already been through, he thought it better to conceal himself instead, afterall he didn't know if these visitors were hostiles. It would be hard though considering his tail flame gave away his current position. He would need to find something to cover, prefferably not flammable.

Bagel staggered sleepily around the room, bored. She was still having trouble thinking... But it was getting easier now. This place was bad, she knew that much... She needed to get out? But how? That was her dilemma, but it seemed unsolvable.
Bored, she walked up to the iron bars, looking out at the rest of the grey around her. She saw a long space- A hallway, she realized. It led somewhere, that's what hallways did. Maybe this would go somewhere good. But the bars were barely, oh-so-slightly too close together for her to go through.
She saw something on the ground, something shiny and sharp. A piece of glass, she realized, that was what it was called. She saw a picture in it, a shiny picture- It showed a strange, metallic creature with narrow eyes, a large snout, and two slits in its head.
She blinked. What was the picture of? She snorted in frustration. She then stared in shock- The picture had moved, too, as if snorting. What was going on? Then, a word entered her head. Reflection. That was what it was, a reflection... Which could only mean one thing... The creature in the picture was her.
She let out a loud, piercing squeal in shock, the sound repeating itself along the corridor. That wasn't other pokemon, that was an... echo, she knew that. But what had happened to her? She remembered her dream... A toaster... The image of a Swinub... Her brain was still too slow and drugged to realize more.
Frustrated, she knew she had to escape. She let out an angry squeal- And her mouth released a small, weak flame. One of the iron bars began to glow red. What had just happened? She tried again. More flame. Eventually, most of the bar was red... Glowing... what did that mean?
In a sudden blast of anger, Bagel threw herself against the bar. She felt a slight pain. The bar was hot, that was it. She didn't know how she had made the flame, but it had made the bar hot. Some instinct told her that it should've hurt more, but it didn't. Strange. She then realized something- The bar was bent, ever so slightly. Had she done that? Her tired brain was still too sleepy to understand. Slowly, so slowly, she began to wiggle, making slight progress, trying to escape.

Doze jumped in surprise. He had just heard a scream, was someone being attacked? He asked himself. Are there other Pokemon here? All he knew is if a Pokemon was being attacked he would have to help it, but first he had to find something to cover his flame, or make it smaller. Just then he had noticed a decrease in his light resource. He turned around and watched unbelievably as his tail flame began to shrink. The small flame was reduced to more of a flicker of a candle flame. It was enough light to see, but also enough to hide his position.

Turning towards the direction he heard the scream from, he dug his feet into the ground and went for an all out sprint. Regardless of his weight, surprisingly Doze still had a very high speed due to his muscular legs.

OOC: Monfernos are able to control the size of their tail flame by will.

After a while, Bagel had managed to make her way all the way out of her tiny cell, looking around. The pain was still there; Her muddled thoughts still knew that she needed to find the exit to this place, however. Suddenly, however, she heard a noise again. More footsteps. That's what they were. Something must be coming.
She continued down the hall however, terrified, running as quickly as she could on her stubby legs. Then, she saw a dead end, but the hallway continued in another direction from it- A corner, a turn, that's what it was. She skidded around the turn- and ran right into a towering Droferno.
Alarmed, she let out another squeal, her mind straining immensely to form a decent sentence. "Don't hurt me... Who are you?" She managed in a frightened voice, backing off slowly.

OoC: Sorry for the short post, I'm tired right now...

OOC: that's fine I've been making short posts this entire roleplay.

Recovering from the sudden crash, Doze stood up and looking down brushing himself off he said, "I'm not sure... But, I think I go by Doze." He was kind of amused by this Pokemon's fear, but also he wondered if his tranformation had actually turned him into a hideous freak. Looking up he jumped back in astonishment. This newcomer was a toaster? He rubbed his eyes and looked again making sure he wasn't having another vision. Kind of akwardly he asked "Who are you?" and with a short pause, "Umm... are you a toaster?" He tried to hide his grin, but by the looks of it it wasn't working.

Bagel blinked. Why was this creature... Doze, that was his name... Why was he... smiling, that was it. Why was he smiling? "I'm... Bagel, that's my name... I... what happened to me... Tired... Can't think well." She managed to mumble.
She continued thinking. A toaster... That cooked bread... But toasters... They weren't alive... But she was... a Swinub... But a toaster... Could she be both? She blinked in confusion.
"Was a swinub... What happened, what...." She mumbled, still extremely sleepy, and now totally confused.

OoC: I have to go now, bye.

The stange metal Pokemon was very unsteady. She seemed to wobble around. He was confused also, though not effected as much as the small newcomer.

"Hey!" he heard someone shout a short distance away.

Doze turned quickly around. He could here footsteps in the same hallway they were in, though he couldn't see them. He was probably visible though. "Curse my tail!" he mumbled. Turning to Bagel, his mouth moving a hundred miles minute, he asked her, "Are you able to run?"

"Dunno..." Bagel managed to moan, still having trouble thinking. However, she knew the shout was bad. Too much noise was not good. So, she quickly wobbled, as fast as her legs would let her, away from the noise, and the bad feelings it brought with it.

She wondered what the other pokemon was... He said his name was Doze. He looked like something she remembered from somewhere.... A Monferno, that was it. After a while, a picture formed in her head... It was a monkey-pokemon, with strange markings and a burning tail. That must be a monferno. But Doze was different... He was... rounder, yes, that was the word for it. And something about him was different. Had he changed, too, just like she had?

He watched the Pokemon quickly wobble down the aisle. Despite her height she was really fast. Doze, resting his knuckles onto the ground began running after her with his ape-like agility. He never remembered running like this, with his hands providing most of the strength. He seemed different. His personality, attitude, even his instincts had changed.

Doze, cringed and tripped a huge snake-like Pokemon had embedded its teeth in his leg. Ekans, his mind told him. This Pokemon was normal though, not like him or Bagel. Were they the only ones who had gone under this dramatic change?

Doze anxious as he was needed to free himself. Lifting up his hand he dug his sharp claws into the Ekans' face. He stood up and faced the snake ready to take it on.

Bagel also noticed the pokemon. Ekans. She also recognized it, and it was biting Doze's leg... That was bad. Quickly, she rammed into the snake pokemon instinctively, trying to harm it.

Then she realized something. This pokemon looked like the picture it brought into her head exactly. Doze and her... That was not what had happened for them. What did this mean? Something in her head told her that it was important, but why?

Another thought also entered her head. Why was this pokemon... attacking, yes, that was the word. Why was it attacking? It made no sense... Why was it trying to hurt them? Was it... evil? Evil was bad, very bad. Usually when one thing was evil, there was something else evil nearby, too, her brain managed to remember. This couldn't be good.

Limping, Doze stared at Bagel. She's strong, he thought.

Two men had just entered the scene. Seeing the deep scratch marks on the Ekans, they looked up at the two Pokemon. The man on the right took out a Pokeball. "These must be the two Pokemon that escaped their cages, John. Next time we'll have to make them stronger. Go Poochyena!" A small beam came from the ball and a Pokemon had materialized right in front of them.

Doze finched, his worst fear was being trapped by a Pokeball. Being imprisoned and being forced to fight at any given time. Just the thought made him tremble. Distracted by his thoughts he didn't notice the man ordering the Poochyena to attack him. The dog ran towards him and tried biting him, but before he could Doze released a jet of fire from his mouth and engulfed the small pooch in flames. The dog reared away and turned his attention to Bagel.

Bagel blinked. This dog creature... Poochyena... Was bad, too. She didn't like it, so she had to get rid of it. So, she flung herself against the small canine pokemon, trying to knock it over. Seeing it skid back on the ground, her thoughts began to clear, coming easier.

Why are the humans sending pokemon to attack us? She had heard what they were saying, but she didn't know most of the words... Why were they being so mean? It made no sense; She wondered what would happen next. Were the other pokemon endless? That's probably what would happen. More and more pokemon would come, and she would die, and that would be the end of it. She shuddered, but continued on with her attacking effort.

OOC: I'm going to start telling the Team Mutation's story to develop the plot/story line and such.

John grinned toward his partner, signaling to return his Pokemon. He also returned his own, Ekans. He turned around leaving the two "experiments" behind and headed towards the door.

His partner, Cam, quickly followed behind. "Why aren't we returning them to their cages?" he whispered to John.

"Because," said John, slightly irritated. "We got what we came for. Also this place is like a maze. Even if they did find a way out, the security would get them so fast, attempting it would be a waste of time. Now let's report to the boss." John and Cam then exited through the door they came in from, making sure to lock it before they continued down the hall.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Doze still in his battle-ready stance looked confusedly at what just happened. Why were they leaving? Their Pokemon hadn't even fainted yet. He wasn't complaining, but why did they leave?

He turned toward Bagel "We should probably try to find a way out." Though he couldn't seem to keep his mind off the two humans.

Doze grew to level 8!

Bagel grew to level 9!

OOC: I'll tell you why next post.

Bagel nodded. By now, the anesthesia had worn off entirely; She could finally think clearly now. "Yeah, we need to escape... Luckily, I can think clearly now." She commented, looking around. "Let's continue on along this hall, I guess." She added.

Beginning to walk, she felt confused. Why had the humans suddenly left? Humans weren't usually like that, at least, she didn't think... What was going on? Did they think she was too stupid to escape or something? She sighed, irritated, and continued on, wondering what lied ahead.

John straightened his clothes as he stood outside the bosses' office. He hit Cam lightly telling him to do the same. New recuits never hold respect for higher ranks, John thought, sighing.

"Come in!" Yelled a voice on the other side of the door. Standing up straight, he opened the door.

Walking into the luxurious office, about three feet from the bosses' desk he saluted and said, " John Ditherton, reporting on the 'experiments'."

Turning his chair around. the boss rested his elbows on the desk and folded his hand. "And, the report is?" he said sarcastically.

John hated it when the boss acted like that, but regardless everybody had to put up with it. "It's just as we hoped, they beat us."

"What! You were hoping we would get beaten?" Said Cam, surprised at this news.

"Cam, let me explain. As you know, are Pokemon are level twenty. You may not know this, but those two Pokemon were level seven and eight." Ignoring Cam's expression of shock, he continued, "You may be wondering how they could've possibly won with such a low level. That's because they are mixed Pokemon. They're developing as if both of them were two different Pokemon, and that's what we've been hoping for. Imagine all of Team Mutation having Pokemon that are twice as powerful as normal ones. That is are vision. So far we have already made eight, one already in our bosses hands." He sighed to signify the end of his speech.

All Cam could do was stare in wonder as he finally knew what was actually going on here.
-------------------------
Doze started walking off in the direction that the men went hoping that they would lead them to an exit. The stench was getting unbearable after awhile. His eyes were flickering up and down as the exhausting day had finally gotten to him. He had no longer needed to hide his flame now that the humans were gone. At this point he wanted to find a cage and sleep, but he knew that he could hold on a while longer.

Bagel winced at the smell, it filled her large nostrils with its horrid stench. At first, she didn't recognize it, but then she realized- It was the stench of decay. And not just any decay, decaying flesh. How could the humans live with it? And, more importantly, what has died? She shuddered at the thought.

Silently, she continued on, worried. What if she ran into more humans? That would certainly be bad, horrible. She was hungry, too; She just wanted to toast some bread in her toaster slots, but she knew that she couldn't at the moment. As she walked on slowly, she prepared to battle again, whole body tense.

OoC: So... does that mean a toaster has the same power as an entire pokemon? I KNEW IT! I told them that toasters had power, but they didn't believe me... I have evidence now!
