Yeah, and I really hate it.
If you need help, you don't get crit. The only people that get crit are the good people that don't need help.

Everyone needs help, because everyone can improve. It's just that they're a more on-itself enclosed community and don't bother rating the sprites of people they don't know.

I'm not being funny, but how long has it been since a spriter with a grudge against C-spriting has been there recently?

I go there occasionally, but all they do to my sprites is repeat the same things in each new thread.

You shouldn't need our approval if you want to make an account on a different forum. I, personally, don't have an account there, since I really don't see the need to join the forum if all my friends are happily active on this one. ^_^; However, if you want different forms of opinions concerning different aspects of spriting, than C-Spriting will only broaden your knowledge of this hobby. When I first started, I joined many different forums with a fairly decent spriting section, and each forum taught me something different. One showed me how to splice well, another showed me how to color well, ect. Picking up different views on spriting is a great idea if you wish to get better. ^_^

I haven't found that they give me much less crit than I get anywhere else, but I do get less then some other people who are high position/well-known/amazing spriter there.

I get better crit at other places, because the crit they give there seems more closed to one style, instead of promoting unique styles, if that makes any sense at all.

O.<

Meh.

I like it there. You may think that, but there are topics that perfectly good spriters got no posts in. Even aocom, whom you all is godly and whatnot.

MM, if they/we say the same thing, then it's because they/we think you have not inproved on that. You might say it's worse than pixeltendo, but nobody called it "ass****ery" when you said that there.

You're very smart, Candice.

XD
if you know it, then why don't you fix it?

that's very immature. People might have a different experience than you, and they might start to actually like it.

Don't knock it 'till you try it.

Look, the people at C Spriting are the only ones who say I pillowshade and have sprites with too-dark colors, and I have tried to fix them time and time again but all they every do it repeat the same goddamn thing.
I HAVE tried it, I hated it, and I will do everything in my power to stop it. If that means no new members from PMF, then so be it.

lol, C spriting.
I joined there after Emmz showed me someone stole my sprites and posted them there. XD Which was rite funny because they were rite old and crappy.
I had a bit of fun there for a few months, and I suppose I learned a few things. But the fun slowly died down, and I haven't been there for a while.
btw, they don't ban people that steal. >__>

You have no power over what memebrs of this site want to do.

And if they say it again, it's because you haven't fixed it

Well how am I supposed to fix it if they don't tell me how?
All they say is 'lol pillow shading', they don't tell me WHERE or WHAT I COULD DO INSTEAD.

I know Casti, aocom, and I at least tried to help with long posts and examples on anatomy shading and saturation. And you did edit the sprites in question but you repeated the errors in different sprites. That is why /we/ repeated ourselves.

please don't think I'm confronting you, I'm just trying to explain my point of view.

Umm, no. YOU did nothing. Ao and Casti did it all, and it still didn't help.=, as they didn't explain WHERE I was doing it wrong and HOW to fix it.
And I don't remember any long, explaining post on saturation. :P

attn: This is to most of MM’s sprites, which have the most need for work. Also, she said we could edit her sprites in the first post, so don’t come to me saying I shouldn’t have done it without permission.

‘kay. First, the colors. They are too dark. I know, blah blah blah, it’s your style, but right now, all I can see is the two first colors, without squinting. The best thing to do is steal colors from actual sprites, and lower the luminosity a little, but not too much. Never below 100. This should be low enough so that the sprites have a dark feel, but we can actually see the sprites in full detail. Also, never use a shade as an outline color. It’s just better looking to use even darker colors, at about 50% lum, though I think the official outline colors will do fine.

Now for the shading. Don’t use a highlight on the parts farther away from the source. Basically, just use a highlight on the part /nearest/ the light source like toodon’s head. Just one spot. for the dark shade, use Shed’s shading tuts on PMF. They’re pretty good.

That has both Luminosity and shading.
Couldda sworn I wrote something on saturation >__>

But all In all, my point still stands.

Luminosity is how light or how dark a color is.
Saturation is how dull or bright a color is.

Ah, okay.
My point still stands however. Nobody as of yet had tried to help me with my pillowshading issues on C Spriting.
