Do you think grades represent how smart you are, or do you think they are used to show that you reach someone's requirements? |

I think grades are just something put their to place you. I personally don't care that much for grades, as they don't prove how smart you are any thing. Unfortunately my parents care too much and will for every A I get ten dollars, B is nothing, C+ -5 from my allowance, and/or the A's. C is minus 10, C- is 20, and an I is 30. The worst would be 50 for an F. |

You know the saying: Don't change anything. Ever.

To an extent, they do show how smart you are, but also not really. Grades are really a combination of your ability to retain information (tests and stuff) and your actual willingness to succeed (homework and stuff). I know that personally I'm a lot smarter than my GPA says I am, because some of the time I just genuinely don't care enough to try. |

I think grades represent how hard you try and your ability to remember the stuff you study. :O They don't actually represent how "smart" you are. Just a test of your power to obtain. A.K.A. Effort. |

Grades are a joint measure of intelligence and/or aptitute to a certain class and your effort. They are a good measure of your likeliness to succeed in a certain area, I'd say: if you have a bad grade either you just can't understand the subject or you don't try enough, both of which mean you will not succeed in that area; a good grade shows you try and have a suitable intellect for that area. |

Grades are things to keep you with people who even slightly have the same brain power or age as you. |

In my opinion, grades don't really matter on how smart you are. I failed art class (Plain F, I know, I tried and succeeded) but I'm actually somewhat smart (Algebra1 in 7th grade). :) |

I feel Grades are just ridiculous excuses for grouping you into "good" or "bad" "classes". |

I don't think they are how good you are, and I don't really think it's fair that someone else gets to put an "A" or an "F" on your record. I personally think it's so that you know how you're doing, and if you should try to work harder, and that it's not a goal to reach the A, more of a goal to do your best, even if that earns a C. |
