| FORUM RULES All offenses are analyzed on a case-by-case basis, such that each instance may be treated fairly. Moderators and Administrators are instructed to be rigorous in warning members on most cases. Type A offenses are usually worthy of a Warn, Suspension, or Ban. Verbal Warns are not applicable. General Type A offenses: - Any advertisement that is outside of a signature or the Advertising board; - Breaking of Signature Rules: See Signature Rules below; - Lying: Includes misleading topic titles, ones that give little to no information on the content, and misleading links (does not include prank links in signatures); - Flaming: Direct or indirect, as long as the object of the flaming feels offended; - Racist or discriminative comments of any kind. - Mature content: As this is a forum visited by kids, mature content such as pornography, etc. is not allowed; - Malicious use of [doHTML] tags: using the [doHTML] tags in a way that damages the system or the forums. Type B offenses may qualify for Warns, Suspensions, and Bans depending on the case. Verbal Warns are applicable for first offenses. General Type B offenses: - Spamming: Posts or topics that don't fit the subject of discussion, or post that do not add enough to the topic; - Leetspeak (aka 13375p34k) or any other form of vastly irregular grammar that may hinder the understanding of a post; - Mini-Modding: Posts that request moderator action on another member's offense(s) (Please use the Report button); - Bumping: Posts that send old and dead topics to the top of the list without adding to the discussion (does not include topic updates); - Swearing and other vulgar language; - Trolling: the act of posting with the sole purpose of annoying and offending other members; - Disfiguring forum tables, be it with unbroken words (no spaces), large images, or via the use of doHTML tags. Type C offenses are never worthy of punishment, but are greatly looked down on. General Type C offenses: - Use of irregular or improper grammar; - Excessive use of doHTML tags; - Irregular polling order in Yes/No polls, being that Yes should be the first option in the poll. Punishments: Verbal Warns are given on the first Type B offense, and count as a half Warn. These expire after two weeks (14 days). Not applicable if the member already has a Warn Level of 1/3 or more. Warns are given on any Type A offense, or on the event of multiple Type B offenses. These add 1/3 to the member's Warn Level, and expire after one month. Suspensions are given to any member who reaches a 100% (3/3) Warn Level. Suspensions last 30 days, and the member returns with a Warn Level of 2/3. Type 1 Bans are given to members who get two suspensions with a time gap of less than two months. The Member will be kept away for at least three months, and will have a Warn level of 2/3 in the event of return. Type 2 Bans are given to members who hack or destroy PMF and/or its sister forums in any way, or who would receive another suspension less than three months after returning from a Type 1 Ban. Members will not be allowed to return in this case. Important Notice: Please read your Warn Logs (accessible by clicking your Warn percentage indicator) to find out why you have been warned. PMing a Moderator or Administrator or posting a topic about it is a Type A offense. Staff Verdict Clause A staff member may request that a specific member is banned prematurely, disregarding warn levels, as long as a decent argument is presented. A poll will be posted and discussion will be open, and if 8/10 staff members agree, a Type 1 ban will come. SIGNATURE RULES Signatures may reach up to 300 pixels in height, so that they do not occupy excessive space. YouTube embeds are not allowed as they exceed the vertical size limit of signatures. Any images or unbroken words (no spaces) in signatures may only reach up to 579 pixels in width, so that they do not horizontally stretch the forum tables. Pure HTML may be used in signatures, but this resource may not distort forum tables or be used maliciously. A PM will be sent to any members who break these rules, and s/he will be given 24 hours to fix the signature. More to be added any time, without notice. Check back often for updates.
