127 Electric Lift
Topic Started: Mar 7 2009, 11:20 AM (177 Views)

I threw a bid at an electric lift unit on E-paytoomuch. If successful, I would like to put this on my 127. I've attached a the picture from EB. Give what is presented here, what else would I need to make this install work? Will it work with my current manual rock shaft?

Were hydraulic lifts available for the 127? If so, anybody know of any sources for the lift units? Any aftermarket manufactures make hydraulic lift units for older IH CC's ?

Thanks,

Mike

You'll need to fab up a harness and switch...hydraulics were available...they were externally mounted pumps...

Hi Mike,

As David said, you will need the electrical parts, and you will need the rockshaft from an electric lift tractor.....your manual lift rockshaft will not work without modification/fabrication.

If you win the electric lift off of E-Bay and need the wiring harness, switch, and rockshaft....or if you don't win on E-Bay and need the entire set up (or any other Cub Cadet related parts) I urge you to check with our site sponsors Cadet Collector Supply Room, and R. F. Houtz and Son......just click on their company logo at the top of any page on OCC.

Also, the list of Trusted Sellers found in this thread on OCC http://s6.zetaboards.com/Only_Cub_Cadets/topic/585177/1/#new are excellent sources for parts :thumbsup

Thanks David. & Wild Bill. Unfortunately, I didn't win the electric lift. It went for $255.00, which is more tan I paid for the tractor. I would pay at least that for a hydraulic unit, but for the electric...

I have been frequenting the parts vendors that sponsor the site (Don't tell my Wife :) ). CC specialties and Cub Cadet Warehouse have gotten me great parts at reasonable prices. My machine is in great shape after only 1.5Mo's of work.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
