I'm in the process of adding a stack to one of mine, using stainless steel swimming pool ladder pipe. As far as a muffler, I'm considering an insert type muffler, commonly used in V8 headers, such as the one in this link:

http://www.carchemistry.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=151

There are many other insert mufflers out there, search for "insert muffler" "zoomie muffler" "header baffle"

I suspect it will be a bit restrictive, maybe similar or hopefully no more than stock?
It should be considerably lighter than a Farmall style muffler therefore less stress on the block and one less exhaust system connection to deal with. (Also I prefer the look of a straight pipe but I'm torn as I like the look of the Farmall muffler too)

Thoughts?

I've never seen those before. I wish I had done something like that on my Original. Maybe on the 100 someday.

While not one that is totaly home made, one can turn the muffler on the diesel models upright, some just keep the little chrome tip on it, that looks strange in the upright position. I got this top pipe from Kubota, its for a model B6200. That model uses the basic same muffler as the diesel cubs. Came nicely painted in a heat treated black paint. Mike

This stack is attached to the OEM muffler so no extra support brackets where needed, and even though it don't look like it, the hood clears the pipe.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
