I tried this a while back, can anyone with a blade send me (or post) pics of the subframe and how the blade tilts or angles on its mount. I want to have some pics so I can make my own. if the people with wide frames could do this I would greatly appreciate it :) :Thanks

squatch

There is a pic of my 451 haban plow and frame off the tractor on the ccc-mtd forum(super pics). it requires brackets at the rear of the frame. If you think it will help when I take it back off soon I can take some better pics. Not the same as wide frame standard gt but if you are making it yourself might give you some ideas. i have also seen several of the wide frame subframes for sale on ebay for reasonable.

Is it a safe Idea to not include the trip springs?
If not, how strong must they be?

I don't know the strength of the springs, but the first blade that IH designed for the Original didn't have them and it didn't work very well...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
