How's it going eveyone!!!!

Well guys, here's a little update on what's being going on so far. As of right now the engine block along with the inside components are about to be shipped out to South Carolina. I'm just waiting for the truck to come and pick them up, which should be sometime soon. But in the mean time, I'm also trying my best to get a 149 Cub Cadet tractor to ship from South Carolina(Vince) to my place here in Texas. I'll let you guys know what the out come is on that one. Take care everyone!!!!! :thumbsup

Hey Cub61,

Hope you get the 149 to your place soon. Do you know much about it.? Will it take much to get it running?

Hey Diz!!!! How's it going good buddy!!!

From what Vince has told me, the 149 Cub is in great shape and it runs just fine. It needs little work to be done to it and it doesn't have a mower deck. But I'm sure I can find one for it some where. Plus what I really like about this tractor is that it has the Hydraulic Lift installed. Hopefully once I do receive the tractor, I'll be taking plenty of pics and vids of it. So keep your fingers crossed.LOL Take care good buddy!!!! :thumbsup

Cub61,

You will love the hydraulics. Get your plow on that one and you will have a blast. And it will be nice for your rear blade too. Cant wait to see pictures.

That's not wishful thinking because such an entity already exist. It's called the Cub Cadet Transportation Network. If you got a CC or part to go from point A to point Z just start posting on CC sites what you need moved and where. Now it's not like overnight delivery and it may take weeks or months depending on how big of a hurry your in for your item to reach you, but it's out there. I've used it on more than one occasion and it sure is cheaper than truck freight. ;)

Hey how's it going guys!!!!

Well guys, here's an update on what's been going on so far. To begin with, the K161S 7hp engine will not be rebuilt like we had planned. Thanks to Vince and the guys we will be installing a Kohler 8hp engine instead. We did have an idea of installing a Kohler 10hp engine in the "Original" but there was going to be problems with the PTO. So the final decision has been made. The OL' Girl will soon be powered by a Kohler 8hp engine.

And as for the 149 Cub Cadet that I was trying to get. That tractor went out the backdoor due to shipping cost being way way to high. We'll try again next time.

By the way, I will be selling the Kohler K161S 7hp engine along with all internal parts. I'll be posting that in the For Sale section of the forum later today. Take care everyone!!!! :thumbsup

You know If I could make a living outa hauling cubs Id do it in a heart beat. Something like a small single axle Pete and a small 32 ft drop deck with the air bags like KEEN has, trailer will drop almost to the ground, I do it in a heat beat! Stay gone 2 weeks a month! Oh and I dont mind hauling heavy. I pulled this load out of a marathon tank farm.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
