I'm getting itchy to do some work on the tractor. I can bring the hood to the Spirit of 76 inside to work on it. How do you prep fiberglass for a repaint? i have some repair work to do first, then do the paint. Isn't sanding going to expose fibers? Thanks. |

Hey IAfarmer. are you talking about sanding the outside surface of the hood? You would'nt want to be so rough with the sanding that you break through the smooth finish. Just enough to dull the old finish a little. If your talking about the area you repair you probably are going to expose some fibers, You will either have to seal with some resin or a little body filler. If you have a picture of the area your working on someone might be able to go into some more detail. Hope this helps |

Thanks. The hood is very worn out, and some threads are already showing through from natural use. I'll post an picture later. Thanks!!! |
