4 generations in the garden

I just wanted to share with you all the wonderful time I had with my family this weekend. I bought a 10" brinly plow last fall and couldn't wait to try it out in the garden this year. I invited my grandfather (83 years old) who grew up on a farm (using first horses and then a farmall F-12), and my father. Took us a while to get the plow dialed in properly, but by the end it was plowing 6 inches deep, turning the soil over nice, and pulling straight. We got to spend some quality time together preparing the soil for this years garden. Brought back some great memories of farm life for my grandfather (even though my garden is only 15 x 30 feet), and was a first for my father and son (will turn 4 years old next week). We then mounted my model 1 tiller and finished it all off. Did a much better job of tilling and leveling the soil with my newly fabricated back plate. Best part was that my ugly weld job held up and the back plate didn't fall off :roflmao:
Hope you enjoy these pictures, I know that I'll cherish them forever...to me, family is the most important thing in the world. Sorry this post got so long winded. Jason

It looks like your son is really liking his time on the seat!! :ih:

Did your grandpa and dad get a case of Cub Cadet 'yellow fever' too?

BTW: Your post is fine! You don't need to apologize for sharing your tractor time with us on OCC...especially when it also involves your family :Cheers

Thank you all for your kind comments. My father and grandfather both worked for an IH dealership (my dad still works for a CC dealer) before it went out of business, so they've been fans of the big red, and little yellow tractors since WAY before I came along. My dad has my grandfather's '62 CC original in his garage yet with two timed decks and a snow plow. And my son, well, he's loved my tractors since before he was able to walk. We would set him up on the seat and he would pretend to drive. He was about 2 years old when he pointed out the PTO, choke and throttle to my uncle and called them by name. He loves going for tractor rides with me. And forget about antique tractor pulls...he sat at one for 5 1/2 hours last summer! Take care, Jason

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
