I broke the fuel trigger off my Makita string trimmer today. :Angry And the small engine shop in this metropolis that we live in didn't even know Makita made weed whackers let alone have parts for them. So in the spirit of "Red Green" and "Tim the toolman Taylor" I improvised until I can get a replacement trigger. Normally I wouldn't get caught with such a set up and I sure wouldn't post a picture of it but I couldn't resist showing this one.

The locking pliers didn't lock anymore so I used the duct tape to hold them shut on the cable. :roflmao: Believe it or not this setup actually works good, I hold the pliers between the handle and my hand and with a little tension forward to accelerate it works like a charm. What bothers me is that this is a rig that my grandfather would have came up with and used instead of replacing the broken part, sure hope this ain't a sign of things to come for me. :BigGrin

Neat Greg! It's amazing, what duct tape can fix, when you are in a hurry, or need it right then.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
