I've misplaced my camera!!!

My wife is the one with the green thumb. I know tomatoes are going in. I found an outdoor timer that I'm wiring up to a rainbird valve to automate the watering. I had to dig a trench about 60 feet all told to run the PVC from the well. THAT was fun!

When I got my Cadet, it didn't have a hitch or adapter. I'm slowly adding these things. I did use a troybilt tiller...which helped some.

We'll be putting in our first garden this year. Matter of fact, just got the tiller set up on my 73 today...just missing a belt or I would have tried it out B) . We're planning on putting in corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, zuchini, squash, bush beans, and lettuce. Hopefully we'll get something to grow and won't just feed the rabbits.

We have two 4'x16' raised bed plots. The iron ore- clay soil here is such a pain that I figured it was best to just build something on top of it. It is amazing how much you can fit into raised beds and proper mulching means that there is no weeding.
We grow tomatoes. green peppers, jalpenos, squash, green onions, watermelon, cantalope, and anything else that happens to catch my eye.

Bruce,

Could you post some pictures of your raised beds? I'm interested in their construction. Thanks!!!

dyt4000,

I'll see what I can do. But I guess now I'll have to clean them up real nice

Simple construction, the first was just sacks of concrete laid end to end that I soaked with the hose, but that got pretty expensive. Second was just 2"x6" nailed together.

I plowed and worked down our garden this evening and was planning on putting out potatoes and onions tomorrow but the weather forecast is not very promising for such activities. I'll sure be glad when I get the 3pt lift on the 128, the ole 125 beat the living daylights outta me today  . I like the 125, but the "wide rides" rule in my opinion. I'll post some pics of the garden when I get a chance.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
