I dont post here often, but i figured someone local might be able to stop by and show me what i'm doing wrong. i bought a drla 40 off ebay, and i have cleaned it out multiple times and put a rebuild kit on it. but.... it still wont work. i can accelerate slowly but any throttle over a very very slow acceleration and it will die. then i let off the throttle and it surges a little then goes back to idle. i have some youtube videos here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCYMHzxc35M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5C-JVSNmoo&mode=user&search= and i am almost running out of ideas. its gonna be for a turbo, but this happens without the turbo, and has no difference. it gets enough fuel, the floats are correct, and the accell pump diaphram has been cleaned and a new one was put on. it also will work fine if i sit at a stop sign for at least a minute, then it wont die. it also has a locked dis-x also and cb header/turbo/wastegate with a holley blue and boost sens reg. but those make literally no difference regarding the problem. |

Yea, it squirts. i talked with eddie early today on the phone and he mentioned the venturi's. i told him that one is moveable, and doesnt seem to hold its position. i'm taking the carb up to his shop so he can look at it later this week. i'll update on here with the findings. |

so i test drove it tonight, and it kinda fixed the problem. i think i need to up the jets a bunch, cause it stumbles so hard from the lack off fuel it just cuts out. if i dont hit the throttle hard enough to use the squirters. the drilling out of the squirters made it much better though. its hard to explain, cause its better, just not all the way there yet now i need to controll my oil leak, its started leaking from just below the pulley in the front and it drips right onto the header. its not much, but i it smokes a freakin ton now due to the different header design. i'll post on here later. thanks for the help eddie. i'll put up a youtube video asap so you guys can see the changes. and i also need to figure out what i want my timing at. probably gonna start at 20degrees. |

so i put in the mains today.... sweet lord.... it made a ton of difference. I think they still need to be a little bigger, but my dead spot is almost gone, and it pulls a lot harder. it doesnt sputter when it gets on boost, or at higher rpms anymore either. so currently my jets are idles 6.5 mains 200 airs 175 pump squirters 50-55 ish and turbo e-tubes. on a single drla 40 1776. so yep. i'll put up videos when i make them. which might be today if it stays light outside. later !!! and thanks!! Eddie i'll try and get up to show it to ya asap

Yes, when the weather turns nicer in April or so, we have cruises and other casual events. Once a month we meet and go to the drive in movies. |

A good place to check for things going on is the events section of this forum. Hope to see you at some functions. |

yea I would love to meet up. So i also ordered some jets from cb tonight. hopefully they will get here this week. I also am gonna try and get a wideband to tune it properly, but then im gonna sell it since those things are so expensive. Hey what do you guys think about using a holley regulator that has been tapped for boost. versus a cb one that has the return line and is boost sensitive. I am running the holley right now, and have a cb one sitting in my room. would it be worth it to switch? I dont think it would make much difference or very little. I also already have a gauge on the holley one for fuel pressure. sorry no vids yet guys...
