Finally got around to getting around to it. This morning, I went out and cranked it over and it started up just fine after a couple of turns. I also drove it around on the freeway to get it hot and it started fine then, too.

Set the point gap. It was a little tight because of a little nipple built up on one side. The points haven't been in the car for more than six months but they got a bunch of miles cause I was driving about 45 miles round trip to work. I don't know if they are bosch points or not. I bought them at Bethany Imports.

Adjusted the valves. They were all pretty close. Mostly a little loose and a couple were a little tight. Set the timing statically right on the 7.5* mark. Cleaned and regapped the plugs. All the gaps were a little big. I guess I need to do that more often.

The biggest problems were the plug gaps being to big and the point gap being too small. Basically this was self-inflicted. I gotta do these things more often.

Yep. 45 miles a day adds up. IIRC, points should be looked at and adjusted every 2.5K? Replacement at 5K? Been too long for me to know for sure...

One thing I DO know, if the bubblepack those points were in was red and yellow on the paper backing, they were Bosch....
