I want my 66 sedan to sit like this:

Here is the page...
A VW from HoodRide

The site says that it has a 4 inch beam but no other info. Do you think this includes dropped spindles too? And how much is the back lowered?

This is how mine sits right now with the spring plates moved 2 knotches down on the outer splines of the torsion bars and front stock. I don't have the motor in yet either so I think I will have to raise the back up some.

What do you think I should do?

you're right Jim, but I assumed that with a narrowed beam, adjustors were also added. But I guess that is not always the case.

If your car is lowered 2.5 in the front, Jim, and I can use adjustors to drop my car down close to 4 inches that would be good I guess. I'm sure ride quality will be awsome. ;)

Does anyone know the perfect combo of rear drop? Like 1 outer spline plus 2 inner splines, or something?

Jim I thought you were going to lower that thing?

Lowheat---
If you want it to ride well then get dropped spindles. Narrowed beams are unnecesary until you start getting real low for tire clearance when turning.
it all depends on how low you want to go.
on the rear I would stay around one inner and one outer unless you raise the trans and clearance the springplates.... axle cups and fulcrum plates suck to replace.
although you can still do it on a budget and keep it safe if you have a welder.
here's a few examples of ride heights...
4.5" narrowed beam. cut and turned. no adjusters. no drop spindles. stock height in back. fron is probably lowered about 5"s? did this in about 8 hours for free.

this oval had a 6" narrowed beam with droddepd spindles and adjusters and layback shock towers. 2 notches in back. front beam about 1.5" off the ground.

the extreme...-- this one has a 2" shortened panhead 6.5" narrowed beam dropped spindles. 2" trans raise and 3 notches out back. pan indents are now flat and jackpoints removed. drags on the ground with gas and an engine---

like bam said, if you wanna drive it dropped spindles.....

adjuster = ass ride, cut and turn = asssss ride.

just depends on the roads where you wanna drive it.

personally i like to drive em so for me dropped spindles and 1 or MAYBE 2 splines in the rear.
REMEMBER also you can drop the front at least an inch by tire size too. just something to keep in mind....

Not low enough for ya bam?

needsto drop a little more. probably not possible with those tires though. narrowing might give you another inch. :D
