what does the pedal tension feel like? If the clutch is slipping now that I reread your origional post either the cable is too tight or the pressure plate is weak. the other stuff I said would be irrelovent.

It feels about like it did before it broke, except that usually when you push a properly functioning clutch pedal in, you feel the resistance 'break' as it disengages, and that obviously doesn't happen now.

I am having a similar issue.

I have a stock cluctch and a kep stage 1. they are both used.
I havent check the pedal assembly yet, I am to busy with school.

but I think my clutch is going out, to fix the problem of it being weird at first i just adjusted the clutch, and it worked. but still very felt weird.

if it is my tube, ill give ya 40$ to fix it . just cause i dont have a stupid welder.

i never post here but email me. or i'll be back. im super busy with school.

well mine started acting up after a burnout... and i think i just roasted the clutch.

but i dunno, as i said havent checked. last time i had the motor out ( 4 months ago) I wanted to swap the clutch but ac.net was backordered. so i just stuffed it back in there.

so i have new one on the way and will probably get time to check it next weekend.
if anyone wants to take a gander feel free to hit me up.

and the clutch wont grab anything now .... its slipping hard.

Well, now that things are warming up its probably time to roll this thing outta the garage and see if I can't figure out what the problem is. I'm thinking broken clutch cable tube, but I'd certainly like a second opinion...

Well, that's one of us back among the mobile. :) Anyone wanna swing by here after the swap meet and take a look at it with me?

Qualification: I live in east Norman, so kind of out of the way for most folks. :P

Well, Mikeystuff came by today and helped me look at this problem afresh. It doesn't appear to be the tube. After we got the car running (silly me, forgot to disconnect the battery over the winter) I tried moving the car - let out the clutch a tiny bit and got a Godawful banging and clattering. Don't recall it doing *that* before, so now I'm really thinking it's a busted pressure plate or a dropped throwout bearing. Ah, the saga continues. :P

I really think you just need to pull that mother :)

I know you hate hearing it, as do I when things go wrong.... but you know its the right thing to do.

let us know how it goes!

Nothing new to report on the vert this week. Life has been more insistent than usual. :P I did want to add that if you haven't met Mikeystuff yet, he was a very nice fella, and his Type 2 is one of the nicest post-67 vans I've seen in awhile.
