Returning home with his daughter in tow, Jeremy wandered up the walk. Glancing over to the house for sale next door, he thoought he spotted movement withing and took a second look. Shaking his head believing it a figment of his imaginatin, he turned back to find her gone. "Ainsley?" he called out looking for her walking towards their home with the groceries, hoping she hadn't wandered too far.

After having picked up Ainsley from daycare, Jeremy apparated back home. The little girl was riding piggy back on her father's back as she giggled. Entering the house, Jeremy reached behind, bringing Ainsley down to the ground. "Ok, we're home what shall me do?"

"Bake cookies!" Ainsley replied excitedly. Before Jeremy could reply she added, "you promised."

"I did, didn't I," he answered, "Alright lets go," he added with a smile as he took her hand and they enetered the kitchen.

Diane stepped out of her house with Dominic wrapped in a blanket in her arms. A gloomy look on her face as she walked down the steps, not sure where she was heading. Wanting and probably needing someone to talk to, but everyone had their own problems. So why would they have time for her. As she walked by Jeremy's house she stopped, glancing up at his front door. Wondering if he was home. Diane walked up to the door and raised her hand to knock, but stopped at the last second. "What am I doing. I don't want to keep bothering him." she said softly looking at the closed door. Sighing. She turned to go, but stopped again and turned back to the door. Wanting to knock, but not wanting to at the same time. She couldn't make up her mind. Sighing again as he ran her fingers through her long brown hair that cascaded down her back.

As Jeremy walked with the house, he noticed a shadow throught the front window and moved to look closer. Spotting his neighbor, he was a bit curious not why she was there but more why she seemed having trouble knocking. Walking up to the door, he opened it looking out at Diane. "Hi," he replied.

Her eyes was crossed down when finally deciding knock. Dominic wide away in her arms. As she raised her hand again to knock, the door opened and she looked up Jeremy. "Oh, hi. Sorry...I wasn't sure if you were home or not." she said. Thinking that maybe she shouldn't have stopped, but headed to the park instead. Her green eyes still sad deep in their depth before she looked down. Fixing Dominic's blanket around him. "I was walking pass and thought that I stop by and say hello. I hope that I'm not bothering you."

"Its alright," Jeremy replied as Diane seemed torn. He noticed the sadness in her eyes slightly before she looks down and sfter she speaks again, he opens the door further. "No,,no your not bothering me," he answers, "Come in."

Diane smiled a little forced when he said that she wasn't bothering him. A little glad that she wasn't, but it didn't change her mood. "Thanks." she said walking pass him into the house. Once inside she turned and faced him waiting for him to lead the way. "To tell you the truth. I need someone to talk to and I couldn't think of anyone else to talk to. That would have the time. I wasn't even sure if you did." she said still looking down.

"Well Ainsley is napping so I think I can spare some time," Jeremy replied with a smile. "Would you like some tea?" he asked leading her towards the kitchen.

"Some tea would be great." she said, following him into the kitchen. With a soft sigh she choose a seat and sat down, switching Dominic over to her other arms. Smiling down at him as he made little noises. A smile that was only for him because when she looked up it vanished. Diane watched as he fixed the tea wondering what she should say, now that she had a pair of ears to listen. "You have a very nice house. I never asked, but how long have you been living here?"

Setting the full teapot on the stove to boil once Diane agrees to tea, Jeremy then moves to get the tea stuffs whule she plays with Dominic. "Thank you," he replied as she complimented the house. "A little over three years, he answered, " Moved her shortly before Ainsley was born." This time he kept from feeling sentimental.

Diane listened. He and his wife must have picked the house out and everything, but she didn't say anything remembering that he wife had died. Even though it didn't show she was sure that it still hurt to talk about her. "I was very fond of my old house, but I couldn't stay there anymore."

"Uh huh I can imagine," Jeremy replied, "Certain houses can grow on you." Hearing the tea pot squeel to tell him the water had boiled, "if you don't mind me asking, why did you leave?" he turned pouring the tea into the mugs and handed her a cup.

She nodded agreeing about a house growing on you. Thanking him as she took her cup of tea. Seeing the steam coming from the top she set it down for it to cool rather than buring herself. Hearing his question, but not answering right away. "I needed a change. A new start, for me and Dominic." she said looking up at his as he sat down. Her eyes screamed that she was running and trying to forget about things that happen. "You haven't asked, but I'm sure that its obvious that I'm a single mother."

"I see," he replied, meeting her gaze as he sat down. Taking a sip as Diane spoke her final statement, he took a breath before answering. "Maybe," he replied, "but i wasn't going to assume anything and didn't feel right asking at least not yet."

Diane looked down at Dominic watching as his eyes closed. This had to be his third nap today, sighing because she was sure that he would be up most of the night. A little glad that he didn't do it often so that she got a fair amount of sleep. She lift up her cup taking a few sips before setting it back down. "It would be hard not to assume when it came to me, after seeing that I was moving by myself and all." she said, sliding her index finger around the top of the cup. "I'll save you the trouble of having to ask. Dominic father is no longer with us." She felt her throat tighten as she said that. "I know your probably wondering why I'm telling you this, but I heard that it help to talk about things. And your the only person that I have to listen at the moment and.....and....." The words just poured from her mouth as usual. Her bright green glistened with tears, but she refused to let them fall.

listening he knew that they had things in common, he figured that he had had people when he lost his wife and she seemed to say she didn't have anyone. looking at her as the tears welled up in her bright green eyes, it made him sad. He put a friendly hand on her back to comfort her. "I am all ears Diane." he smiled at her hoping to beable to comfort her in some way or form.

Diane sniffed as she took in a breath trying to get herself under control. She would have smile or even forced one when she felt his hand on her back, but was to say to smile. Glad that Dominic was asleep now. When he said that he was all ears she just let it go, letting everything pour from her mouth. "I don't want you to think that I completely don't have anyone. Its just that I don't want to be a burden on them and that's how I feel. They all have their own problems and don't need mine to. I try to convince myself that everything will be alright, but I'm not sure anymore." he said, pushing her hair behind her ear. Diane had told herself that she wasn't going to cry, but a tear fell and rolled down her cheek. "I still miss him so much and I thought that I find someone that would help fill the hole in my heart, but things didn't end how I would have liked them to. I was left more hurt than before. I want to be strong for Dominic, but I just feel useless. And now my mother is trying to take him from me. Saying that I'm not capable of taking care of him.

Jeremy listened to Diane scooting himself closer as she began to cry, he took his free hand and brushed away her tears. "well you should never feel like a burden to people who are your friends." he started, "and second its hard to loose someone you were in love with and had a child with, I still miss (enter wife's name here) every day when i see Ainsley, and it gets easier. But no one truely gets over someone they loved so much." he sighed letting out some of his own thoughts and feelings, "I have seen you with Dominic and there is no reason for your mother to even attampt to take him from you. If she is thats just wrong. NO morther should be seperated from their child unless the child could be harmed, and I don't see you doing him any harm." he smiled starting to rub her back.

"I know that I shouldn't, but I do. They have their own things to worry about so why should I trouble them with mine." Diane closed her eyes briefly as his hands touched her face wiping away her tears, but when she opened them more fell. She fixed Dominic in her arms as she looked down at him. "Jake didn't know that I was pregnant again before he was killed. I didn't even know until after." Just thinking about her mom trying to take Dominic made Diane feel worst. "If she really wanted to, she would do everything within her power to take him from me. I'm trying to prevent that from happening. Being the Undersecretary to the Minister." She looked up at Jeremy again mastering a faint smile. Extremely happy that she had come over.

Jeremy listened intently to Diane's words, wanting to help in any way he could. When she mentioned being pregnant again, he figured a lost child marred her history since it was obvious Dominic had no older sibling. "I'm sure there are plenty of ways to keep her from getting her way," he replied pausing for a moment in thought before adding, "If you ever need a character witness you know where I live." As she gazed up at him, Jeremy noticed the faint smile and answered with his own, happy that her mood seemed to approve since he found her on his porch.

"Maybe, but what if I can't think of anything." Diane said. Doubting that she could ever win against her mother. She looked down at Dominic briefly before looking back up. She didn't think that she could handle a second son taken away from her. "Maybe I should have went with her." she said more to herself then anyone. "We've only meet a few time and we don't know that much about each other, yet your being so kind to me. Offering help as if we've known each other for years."

jeremy was trying hard to cheer her up, "Diane It will work out." he watched her gaze as it looked over at dominic he sighed having a feeling he knew that she would hate to see him taken away. He didn't want to see him taken from her, even if they had not known eachother long he could tell she was a great mother. Somehting inside him had told her she was, it may have been anisley or dominic but iwas something that made him smile when he though about her or saw her. "I know, but every little bit helps. Trust me." he smiled hopping he could cheer her up. He heard Ainsely upstairs, "Stay here, I'll be right back. I think Aisley is up, I am sure she would like to see you." he smiled moving from his chair up the stairs to retrive his sleeping angel.

Diane so badly wanted to believe him that everything would work out, but how could she. With this feeling eating at her very soul saying that it wouldn't. Things just never seem to go right for her. She would get her hopes up only to have it shot down in the end. Diane could tell that he was trying really hard to cheer her and for that she was very grateful. She nodded when Jeremy told her to wait here and went to get Ainsley. Fixing and wiping her face, not wanting to look so sad when he returned with her.

Jeremy came back downstairs with a newly awakened Ainsley in his arms as the little girl gently rubbed the lingering sleep from her eyes. As they neared the kitchen he asked softly, "Guess who's here?"

Still in the process of waking up from her nap, Ainsley looked to her father curiously before spotting the woman in the kitchen and smiling.
