You enter the classroom, seeing the many books lining the left wall, and also see a number of items stacked on shelves on the right. A younger man not much older then some students is browsing through a few of the books to the left. You're about to ask where the professor is when he turns around, a metallic arm glinting in the sunlight from the window, and says, "You're early. I like that. Take a seat wherever you'd like while we wait for the other students to arrive." He pauses for a brief moment then adds, "My name is Professor Brandon Elric." |

Professor Elric walked into the room from his office, setting his wand and some small charms on his desk and waited patiently for students to arrive. He had doubts that he would have any students at all but he remained hopeful. OOC: I totally forgot that I had set a time that I would start the class. I'm 3 hours late for my own lesson! |

Darsha had decided for the sake of it to go to the lesson. She entered the classroom rather suprised to see it empty. She did not greet the professor, but took up a seat at the back of the class and threw her bag to the floor. She leant back in her chair wondering if anybody else would come. |

June had decided to go to Alchemy, just because it was the one and only subject she was not practiced in. She saw Darsha and her lips flickered upwards in a smirk. This was the girl she had been thinking of whenever she had thought about building up a death eater army right here, in Hogwarts. The girl needed some training first, probably, but then perhaps Darsha could help her train the others. She decided not to nod or acknowledge her fellow House Mate, being too prideful and thinking everyone should approach her, and sat gracefully down in one of the chairs. Her cold gray blue eyes watched the scene around her with contempt and defiance. June knew Sasha and Natalie knew best by sending her back to Hogwarts to gather recruits, but honestly, why not just send Uma, or Luka? Because both of them are weak, that's why she thought to herself, getting out her supplies and placing them on her desk. She needed as many death eaters as she could get and the one who held the most promise, the most evil, the most talent, was sitting beside her. It was tempting not to lean over and spill all of her plans, but June knew better than to trust someone. Three men can keep a secret, if two of them are dead she quoted in her mind with yet another smirk. She half-closed her eyes, giving her the appearance of being bored with everything around her, and propped her chin up on her hands, forever plotting. |

Darsha noticed June walk in but didn't give any acknowledgement to her either. They had only had a breif talk and Darsha had been hoping to get to talk a little more, she decided to talk sometime after the lesson, somewhere more private. She looked up at the professor and gave him a creepy smile, one that could seem friendly, but cruel also. |

Professor Elric saw two students walk in and take seats. *Maybe I'll have a class after all.* "Glad to see there are still some curious students in the school," he said to them. "Hopefully we'll have more arrive soon enough." |

Laurel skipped into the Alchemy class for their first lesson. She was quite eager to learn about the subject - especially after what Nathan had showed her on the train. "Hello Professor." Laurel chirped, beaming at him before slipping into a seat near the front. Seeing neither Robethor or Nathan in the classroom yet Laurel had chosen a seat with two empty ones on either side. Who knew - perhaps she'd make a new friend today. |

Brandon smiled and nodded his head as a third student arrived and addressed him. He looked back to the door praying that more arrived. Nathan strided in and looked around. He looked to the front and saw his uncle staring straight at him so he walked towards the front and spotted Laurel. He moved to the very front and sat down to her right. "Hello Professor Elric," he said grinning. |

Laurel noted Nathan enter the room and sit down next to her. She beamed at him - Laurel was obviously in an excellent mood today. "Hiya." She said, although ended the conversation there. Laurel wouldn't want to get in trouble for talking in class in her first lesson. |

Brandon looked over to Laurel when she said hi to Nathan. "It's alright. The class hasn't officially started yet. You can talk until I say otherwise." He began to pace a little, playing with a hidden compartment on his auto-mail arm. *4 students. I knew the turnout wouldn't be good for the first class but I didn't think that it would be this bad.* "Hey," Nathan said back to Laurel after his uncle gave them an ok to talk. "I knew you'd be here for his first class. Might be a little boring at first though. He'll go over the basics first which means we won't be using alchemy just yet." "You might if I think any of the students are ready enough. I don't need to worry about you though since I trained you last year. That's why in my class you won't be earning to many points. It's not fair to the others when you already know most of it." |

Laurel giggled, "Okie-dokie! Thanks Professor." She said, before turning slightly in her seat to glance at Nathan. "That's allright! I don't really know too much about alchemy anyways - except what you told me on the train ride. I can't wait for class to start." Laurel said cheerfully, glancing at the clock again. "How've you been though? I saw you at the feast." She recalled. |

Nathan sulked a little. He hoped to earn a good bit by already knowing things. "I've been good. Just getting used to being here. I saw you to. We haven't really gotten to many chances to talk since the train ride." He glanced at his uncle Brandon who now seemed to be moving switches inside of his arm. Nathan shuddered watching him. "I hate when he plays around with his arm like that. It gives me the creeps," he said just low enough so that Laurel could only hear him. |

Darsha watched the two kids and the professor talk. She glared at Laurel and a smile coming to her face. She began to cough violently. "CoughCoughCoughSWOTCoughCough* She cleared her throar and smiled innocently. "Sorry about that, I must have swallowed a fly." |

Laurel nodded, "I know. Have you met a lot of people yet? I've only talked to you and this other guy I met who's in Hufflepuff with me. I wonder where he is.." She said, looking around as if he would appear out of thin air. Laurel shrugged, "Anyways..." She trailing off and looking at Nathan's Uncle, the Alchemy Professor. "Whats he doing?" Laurel whispered back, her green eyes as wide as galleons. |

Brandon looked up from his auto-mail at the student who supposedly just 'coughed'. "Well just be more careful next time not to swallow those. I've heard fly larvae can survive in stomach acids," he said with a small smirk. "I haven't met anyone except you really," he confessed. He looked to his uncle. "He's probably loosening gears. He's constantly tinkering inside of it. Sometimes he'll stiffen them to make his arm basically a battering ram or a club or loosen them to make his arm respond faster. I never completely understood how auto-mail works or how it responds to what he wants it to do. Many people see auto-mail as a handicap but my uncle uses it as a strength." |

Darsha raised her eyebrows feigning interest. "Really? I should try that then, it sounds like something... interesting." She gave a tight smile and returned to staring down at her desk. |

Brandon was getting rather annoyed. Trouble makers on the first day. "Try if you want. Just hope they don't try to eat you from the inside out. How do you think a carcass decomposes so quickly?" |

Darsha came really interested now. "Eat me from the inside? Cool!" She grinned, maybe she would learn something half decent in this lesson. |

Brandon sighed and gave up with the girl. He looked around. "Still only 4. I may have to delay the class. I certainly can't only have a class of 4." |

"Yea," Nathan said. "The biggest bonus is that he can use alchemy on it, changing it into a bunch of different things." Brandon glanced at a pocket watch on his side then clapped his hands together. "Alright everyone quiet down. I guess we'll just have 4 of you until more arrive. Now then." He looked between them until they quieted. "I'd like each of you to tell me what you think alchemy is. No answer is wrong." |

Darsha spoke first. "It's when you change things with your mind, or something like that." She said, taking a vague guess from the tiny bits she had heared about Alchemy. |

"That's right in a sense. You have to create an image of what you want the object to change into. 5 points for a pretty good answer. There's much more to it then that though. Anyone else?" He looked around, hoping for someone else other then Nathan to answer him. |

Laurel snapped her mouth shut as soon as the Professor started the lesson. Although eager to participate she was unsure whether her answer was correct and being Laurel she did not want to make a mistake in her first lesson. Instead she merely smiled at Nathan, hoping he'd have the correct answer. |

"Nobody else? Well then Nathan why don't you explain the fundamentals of it?" Nathan sat up a little more as he spoke, looking and smiling back over to Laurel. "Alchemy is changing one thing into another thing of equal or lesser value using your mind and focusing your energy into one point. A table into a chair or two would be a good example. "Exactly. So again, Darsha was it?, you're answer was correct but just a slight bit off." He clapped his hands together then smacked an empty desk next to him. Sparks flew from his hand and a flash of light engulfed the desk, disappearing to show a chair in it's place and a few planks of wood next to it. "As Nathan said, alchemy changes one thing into another of equal or lesser value. Since the chair didn't require as much wood as the desk it was left out." He clapped his hands again, touching the chair and wood and returning it to a desk. "Any questions?" |
