I was on my way home today and I was with my dad so I was listening to a christian radio station. They come on and have an advertisement about surpressing internet porn and that families have been torn apart because of it. I've already said all I can say about this subject, but I have to say this much: What...The...Fuck?!?!?!?!? Needless to say, I think that's complete bullshit! They don't say specifically what's so bad about these things, they just use them as something they can hate. On a seperate note: I was surfing myyearbook.com just now and there are "safety" tips on there. I was looking through them and one of 'em said not to give out personal information. Okay, first of all, no-one listens to that one, I got about three IM addresses from myyearbook and the site has a section where you make a profile of yourself and the point of that is to post info about yourself including contact information. Can you say hypocrites? |

Master you don't realize what porn can do. Men can get addicted to it (and even women *cough*) and it can tear familes apart. If a husband gets addicted to porn and his wife finds out she could be hurt. Just put yourself in the shoes of a wife. If you found out your husband was addicted to porn and it turned him on more than you how would you feel? If he looked at it more than you how would you feel. I know there are sensitive wives out there who would probably leave their husbands if they found out they were addicted to porn. Husbands are supposed to love their wives and that most certainly isn't watching some size 2 double D blonde finger herself. If I find out my hsband is addicted to porn when I get married I would be really hurt. I might not leave him but I would most certainly be hurt. If you have an unstable marriage and the husband is looking at porn all the time and hardly even paying attention to his wife (which I'm sure there are some cases like that) then I wouldn't be surprised if his wife left him. Just think about it. |

You're right, but how would she know it's an addiction? And who's to say that it's not still a family if she leaves him? My mom and dad are divorced and they're both still friends and the bonus is I get to hangout ith both my dad's family and that of my mom. I just think it's kind of jumping to conclusions instead of getting the real story. |

well, I see the points of both these arguments. Personally, I can't deny it... I do like the idea of being able to do whatever in whatever way I want... in the form of artwork... I'd be lying if I said I didn't love the furry fandom for this (the fact that they're open-minded to any and all forms of sexual expression). HOWEVER I can see exactly where Norrington is comming from. I would also feel completely and totally heartbroken... but Master brings up the good point that a person could very easilly give it up. Hmm... My personal philosophy is the three minds thing... Brain, Heart, and respective Genitals. As I see it: love happens when all three minds agree that they can get along with that person... so sometimes I wonder if it's the very problem being that they got together too quickly and assume that they'll get what they want just because one of the minds says "YES" while another one is saying more quietly "I donno..." That's my crazy philosophy though... Porn's confusing... but Norrington, I thank you for not saying "God! IT'S DEGRADING!" or something like that... because it's a desperate lie... >.< |
