I wouldn't have thought the vote for this would be so split.

I hate long passwords, but I had no idea about this statistic:

Quote:

The 12-character era of online security is upon us, according to a report published this week by the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The researchers used clusters of graphics cards to crack eight-character passwords in less than two hours.

They assumed a sophisticated hacker might be able to try 1 trillion password combinations per second. In that scenario, it takes 180 years to crack an 11-character password, but there's a big jump when you add just one more character -- 17,134 years.

I might as well tell you now, that for my most college secure stuff I actually use NM screen names. I don't know if that's detectable, but they're sure memorable. Sorry champ and a1, but yours are too easy, I stick with Buff8125 and Potato923. Need those 12 characters you say? Look no further than Rijbean9192k.

I'm not currently using any of your names, but I will again...

I actually wanted to give this its own topic, but figured I'd spare you all from another weed thread.

A great, encouraging article: http://www.cnn.com/2010/OPINION/09/28/piper.decriminalize.pot/index.html

And the accompanying poll:

Well shit, apparently they took down the poll before I could post it (as always). The results were 72% in favor of legalization.

I updated the above poll as they left it open over the weekend. Obama's numbers fell from as high as 64% to its current low of 59%. Oh, America...

CNN lost another poll I was going to post, this time on Obama's influence in the Middle East. The poll showed 81% say that Obama is losing influence in Middle East negotations. I emailed CNN to see if they archive their polls. Oh well, here's the article anyway:

Yeah, people are definitely informed enough to vote on that subject.

Whenever there's a weed poll, I always let it sit so it can get more votes. Then I check back on the poll, and its gone. Well, not this time!

Edit -- CNN is running two versions of the same poll. One on their main page, and one in the 'related articles' link. Check out the difference:

Main page:

BUT THE WEALTHY NEEEEEEED THAT MONEY.

You just don't understand what it's like to have so much money you barely know what to do with it. That home in Malibu isn't going to finance itself, y'know. Life is so hard sometimes.

Coincidentally one of my friends posted this link just a few minutes ago.

http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/joe_conason/2010/11/18/millionaires/index.html

They're probably all left-wing-commie-psycho-fascist-nazis. The article also mentions that a few super-rich folk didn't get on board, not that it's terribly surprising. As it only explicitly lists millionaires I'm guessing that no super-rich joined.
