This poll is meant to judge nighttime (non-nap) sleep, without the aid of any helpers, i.e. alcohol, drugs, nyquil, herbs, etc. But throw in that information too. I'm 90-120 minutes sober, 10-20 with weed. |

It never matters what I do during a day, I still need something to knock me out at the end of every night. Take these wild ass driving adventures for example. The other night I spent 9 hours on the road, got home, and was still not able to fall asleep until taking a 420/ambien/excedrin cocktail. I was completely dead-ass tired exhausted, but I don't have the body mechanism that puts a person to sleep. With 420, not only do I actually fall asleep, I stay asleep longer, and get more quality restorative sleep. Without it, it turns into zombiesleepfest2008. |

Yes I'm totally with you on it being deeper and more restorative. It's ridiculous how much more energy I have the day after a 420 night than a sober night. |

My sleep schedule is all fucked up. Sometimes I don't drift off to sleep until about 8 or 8:30 in the morning...then wake up at like 4 or 5. However, when I usually head to bed which is like 6 or 6:30, it takes about 15-30 minutes. Last night though was 2 hours. 420 knocked me out for awhile but after my nap I couldn't get back to sleep. |

Yeah I work the night shift, which is from 6-4 or 8-4 depending on the day during the week (Fridays its only 6-12 so that's not bad). But after I get off work at 4 I usually head to the gym till about 6 or 6:15ish then head home and kinda cool off and then go to bed. Kinda ruins the next day if you want more than 5-6 hours of sleep but I don't really have much else to do so... |

When I'm on my school schedule and I am 100% dead tired at the end of the day it takes me like 5 minutes to fall asleep, but thats just pure mental and physical exhaustion, and that sleep rarely ever results in a solid restorative rest. I don't need any kind of outside help to get to sleep but its usually faster, easier, and feels better that way. |

Well, I'm distinguishing nighttime sleep. When I'm reading a lot or writing I can get tired and nap my way to sleep real quick, which is why I didn't include those. But when I have a 'set' sleeptime (as in I can't stay up until the point when I'd be pass out), I get surges of energy at night even if I'd been tired/napping from working earlier that day. I've tried reading but reading makes you use your brain too much so I get too stimulated (an effect cited by others as well) |
