FLAWLESS
I'm writing an op ed for my school paper about Imus. This is just a rough draft but feel free to FLAME THE FUCK OUT OF IT

or offer some suggestions

right now its kind of awkward as its both serious/not.

Also, ther'es no conclusion

IN DEFENSE OF DON IMUS

Let me start off by saying that I never really listened to Imus’s radio show, other than overhearing it sometimes when being driven to school. The cars in my family were always tuned to WFAN in the morning and some of the jingles and ads are still embedded in my skull to this day: “If your radio sounds funny in the morning, you’re listening to Imus in the morning”. So while I am sympathetic to Mr. Imus, I am by no means a fan of his. In fact, from the very little I’ve heard, I think his show sucks.
I’m sure we’ve all heard the story of the fall of Don Imus, and to be honest I am outraged. First off, I didn’t even know the words “nappy” and “ho” were racially charged. Surely there are white people with nappy hair and surely all girls are hos. Can we not call white people pale, blonde haired bitches? Is that racist?
However, this all inspired me to do a little bit of research. I have a friend who goes to Rutgers who foolishly gave me his facebook password so I could take a closer look at these so called n_ppy headed hos. After changing his profile to list that he is interested in men and that one of his favorite movies is the 1980s classic “Xanadu”, I was ready to go. After viewing through several dozen pictures it became rather apparent that many of these girls do in fact have nappy hair. Fired for making an observation that isn’t even necessarily racist? That would be almost as bad as firing an aide for using the word “niggardly”. Oh wait.
But what’s at issue here isn’t the supposed nappy hair and ho-ishness of the Rutgers Women’s Basketball team, but rather Imus’s free speech being limited by corporations. If Imus wants to make off-color(get it?) remarks, he is entitled to do so. How else will I know my rights to call Condoleezza Rice a nappy headed ho (She is) are protected?
CBS fired Imus because there was outrage in the African American community about Imus’s language. Far be it from me to judge, but don’t the leaders of the African American community have serious issues to be dealing with other than some off-color remarks by a radio personality? Getting Don Imus fired from his job isn’t going to help solve income inequality between the races or help ease the insanely high incarceration rate among young black men. It’s not going to help talented inner city kids from getting the education they deserve and it’s not going to help end racist hiring practices. Imus isn’t the enemy here and needs to stop being treated as such.

I disagree. Some say the sources are questionable, but those at the Massachussets Endowment for the Advocacy of True Society: Plurality Is Necessary have researched this and found quite the opposite. After years of advanced research into slavery, racism, civil rights, and the socio-economic effects of all these influences on the African-American community, they've found that at the very root of all racism and all black people's problems is Don Imus. He's not just under the hood of the KKK, he sewed them himself. The tree of lynching isn't just in his yard, it was his seed from which it grew (He likes masturbating on the lawn). White people are less familiar with this theory for the very reason you mentioned: Imus isn't really that funny and no one cares about him. But look at how black figures like Al Sharpton have attacked him; they know.

There is a solution here, but it's not firing him. And though the bill of rights would protect him, it's not prosecuting him. Ladies and gentlemen, to end discrimination, we must KILL Don Imus. It's the only solution if you really want to end racism. If you don't want to, well...no biggie then. I don't really mind one way or the other, I was just kinda assuming you guys were against it or something...

We should just wipe out every employed white man while we're at it, then those who survive can complain about equality and how whites don't have equal job opportunities lololol
