A great article that details the operation, though I'm sure many more will follow: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42853221/ns/world_news-south_and_central_asia/

Chuck Todd is bringing it this morning. Code name for Osama was Geronimo, and his death was reported as "Geronimo is KIA" (I love small lil military details like that). Also reported is that the President was monitoring the whole thing via video and audio. The President is showing how you quarterback a team.

The only thing that has eluded me so far is the Osama burial at sea. What's up with that? It seems kind of fishy (no pun) (really, no pun!).

Chuck Todd with another hit, this time a look at Pakistan and whether they had knowledge of bin Laden's whereabouts -- http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/newsdesk/2011/05/what-pakistan-knew-about-osama-bin-laden.html

Also, Huffington Post answers a question I had:

Quote:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. special forces team that hunted down Osama bin Laden was under orders to kill the al Qaeda mastermind, not capture him, a U.S. national security official told Reuters.

"This was a kill operation," the official said, making clear there was no desire to try to capture bin Laden alive in Pakistan. (Reporting by Mark Hosenball, writing by Matt Spetalnick)

A look at what led up to the decision to green light this operation, and the risks involved. One other thing it mentions is the material that was seized from the compound, which I think is a big thing that shouldn't go overlooked. The article mentions setting up a task force just to figure out the material -- sounds kind of like The Wire! http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/05/02/bin.laden.dead/index.html?hpt=T1

Pictures of inside the compound after the raid (in gay slideshow form): http://abcnews.go.com/International/slideshow/photos-inside-osama-bin-laden-kill-zone-13508190
