Anyone have any thoughts on these classes they teach about social media? They seem like a scam to me but maybe they actually do teach a lot of good tricks. Anyone have any info on these?

Who are they geared to? I could see a whole bunch of different groups you could cater social media classes to:

1. Baby boomers/elderly - how to properly post, make a profile, set privacy, etc. I have seen numerous times an older person trying to wish someone a happy birthday on Facebook only to see that it was put in their status update bar instead of the person's wall.

2. Teens - an obviously vulnerable sect of the internet-using population. Self-explanatory in terms of security/privacy.

3. Parents of the above - educate before their children have done irreversible damage to their persona via social media

4. PR/promotion - how to use social media to advance products, brands, events, etc.

If you are a social media guru, you could clean up with the potential of huge audiences needing this information.

It's a scam. Theres a reason up until Zuckerberg "CHANGED TEH WORLD!" that all internet companies advocated for privacy. Common sense promotes never giving out details of yourself; if you don't sing it from the sidewalks don't spray it on the internet.
