What did happen to Donkey Kong? It hit me today, during my RE GCSE exam no less, that Donkey Kong has been getting worse. First off he was in a few arcade games (or incarnations of him at least) which were all fairly good hits even though they were as short as you would expect an arcade game to be. Then Rareware came along, stole the chimp with their big sexy game making hands and made 3 of the best games of the time (Donkey Kong Country 1-3) with great soundtracks to boot. These games also got remakes that weren't quite so good on the GBA. There was a big gap, and Donkey Kong 64 came along, with its large levels and stupid amount of bonus rooms, but most of all, that epic last boss of a boxing match. Since Rareware left Nintendo, all we've had is Donkey Konga (admittedly fun when drunk), The King of Swing, and some Barrel racing game I didn't even bother reading about. The only people who know how to make a Donkey Kong game are Rareware, and they are the only ones who have ever done the character justice. I don't even think Nintendo are capable of making a GOOD Donkey Kong game, and if they are, why aren't they proving it? But no use crying over spilt milk is there? I'm sure you all enjoyed DK: King of Swing as much as I did. |

A new epic DKC game is needed and maybe a game on the wii like DK64. I so wish it would happen. Nintendo managed to make Mario Galaxy. If they would make a new DK game like galaxy that would be awesome. |

But, apart from collecting things (Stars and Gold Bananas), Galaxy and DK64 had completely different feels to them. If DK64 had been similar to Galaxy it wouldn't have been such a great game as the feel wouldn't have been right for Donkey Kong. Plus you wouldn't have played as the other Kongs, which is one of the most fun parts of DK64. |

That is true. I just hope they make a decent DK game soon. |

What I really want is for all the people who worked on the original DK games as part of Rare (a lot of whom I think have left Rare now) to be working on it. If they work how they used to, then a great DK game would be cake to them. |

I've never been too fussed about Donkey Kong as i've never been able to get into his games. |

Do not try and eat the cake, only try and realise the truth.

I want a proper Zelda game, with a proper city, like OOT's kakariko village/hyrule castle town. Or pretty much every area in MM with NPCs. Aww yeah. |
