Public records of punishments?

I was just wondering.. would it be useful to anyone if we kept record of the people we had warned and why, but somewhere on the forum where everyone can see?
This way the punished can have a detailed explanation of why they were punished from the person who did it, and those who are reading can gain knowledge of why someone is inactive (for example, saying Mark is suspended for two weeks). It would also mean staff can look back at what's happened and see whether it's a repeat offence.

No poll or anything for now, I'd just like to know what other people think.

Gacha is a terrible mistress.

Could be a good idea, except for the fact that I've forgotten who/why I've warned people in the past. XD

It would have to be from now on only, I guess.

No, we don't let people view warn history for a reason, it's private. If people wish to know something they can ask via PM. Although this does sound similar to the old Rap Sheets idea we used to use that Howe came up with, but it ever got updated or used. I approve of private records, not public ones...

Rap sheets were for staff. They died out because they got unused, but the idea was to keep track of what people had done, only to be viewed by staff, not publicly.

Anyway, I'm against this. Public records of offense will only lead to abuse.

This sounds like a great idea.

Why? You can't just say it's a good idea without explaining why.

I would say have one that says when people will be inactive due to banns and and suspensions but not actually showing what they were warned for.

That's a good idea. Maybe we could pin a topic for it in the Announcements Board or something.

It'll be like having a criminal record :0

I'm all for it if it is only from now on

but if it includes every warn, suspension etc ever commited then I'm not

my reasons are that I have recieved 2 unneccesary warns so far :suss:

I would agree, but I do like to argue that lots of warns shouldn't have been given.

So go cry about it. Warns get given at the discretion of a mod at the time. You vote for them, they dish out warns based on their views. If you don't like that, ask for a new mod election.

You're free to complain about an unfair warn, but once it's gone let it go. There aren't long-term records of things you've done, so you're not judged unless you get a reputation. If you have a rep, it's your own fault.

HM, if you're so upset about a couple of warns that were overruled, I suggest you start looking at becoming an insurance lawyer.
