All Hope Is Gone!

I can see this being made into a movie where you tell people it is based on a game and they wouldn't know. People will just see it because it is a vampire/monster movie. |

The only way this movie could be redeemed is if they pick me for the part of Belmont :p other than that they can't do anything to save it unless they somehow incorporate Ayami Kojima's awesome artstyle into which they won't. I've also heard they're making a live action Dragon Ball film <_< . |

I've known about this for a while. Apparently this is the script for the first bit: http://cache.kotaku.com/assets/resources/2...nia_scene_i.pdf I think this is going to be awful XD I've not read that in much detail, but it seems more like Indiana Jones, and there are plotholes already - what is Elizabeth Bartly (mistranslated from Bathory) doing in Trevor's time, and why is she a Succubus, etc? (Still, if Elizabeth is in it, it interests me since my fav Castlevania is the one she was in :p ) It's probably going to ruin the already falling reputation of the series, it's going to stray from the timeline no doubt, its going to have music not by Michiru Yamane most likely, it'll end up worse than Van Helsing, and the characters will spit out cheesy lines that make me cringe, and so on. I'll still see it though - it is Castlevania, so I want to see how they try to destroy the series like IGA is doing... EDIT: Link doesn't work, it did the other week though... |

Elizabeth Bathory... wasn't she that Romanian woman who was acused of being a vampire because she killed young maids and bathed in their blood for eternal youth ?:/ She was in Castlevania: Dracula X or am I mistaken. Anyway you think IGA is ruining Castlevania? |

Yeah she bathed in the blood of young maids to keep looking young, then after the effect startec decreasing she sought more noble, royal women, and was tried and sentenced to be walled into her bedchamber, with only a small hole for food. She was in Castlevania The New Generation, Sega Megadrive ;) Called Castlevania Bloodlines in the US. IGA had a good hit with SotN, but then every CV after has been an attempt at repeating it, with the now boring Metroidvania style (go back to classic stage based style please :p ) and cut and paste backgrounds and enemies, and anime style. CV needs someone new in charge, since IGA's clearly given all he has to give and is giving the same thing again and again. Perhaps we'd even get a better 3D 'vania. With all this timeline abuse, wonder if they'll put it Carmilla the lesbian vampire... |

Well I wouldn't say I was a Castlevania expert but I've enjoyed DoS and PoR though I'll admit the artstyle is rubbish bring back Ayami Kojima, perhaps we'll be luckier with the 3rd DS attempt. I like both the stage based gemplay and the metroidvania style but I think I'd go for metroidvania, never played a 3D one though. But as for Carmilla I don't see why not, it seems the kind of thing they would use to bring in the more brain dead audience. |

Well I suppose that on their own DoS and PoR are pretty good (DoS is great anyway in my opinion, but PoR quite lacking in interest, with little storyline, and having Eric Lecarde killed so feebly when he beat Dracula (well, co-defeated) in Castlevania The New Generation was disappointing, and also Charlotte's anticlimatic "Still, that was an impressive disply of impromtue (sp?) teamwork" to Dracula once you beat him made it seem really childish compared to other 'vanias. I agree the series needs Kojima back, and have you seen the screenshots of what is supposedly the new DS game (they may be fake, or they may be real, no-one knows... My bet is they're fake)? See in this thread on the CV Dungeon forums: http://castlevania.classicgaming.gamespy.c...php?topic=611.0 I'm sure they would put Carmilla in there to attract a wide audience :p After all the series seems to have taken the anime-style route so it appeals to more kids, why not try to appeal to a wider audience at the other end? XD I hope they don't though, it'd probably ruin it even more. The 3D ones are interesting - I would recommend Lament of Innocence for PS2 (or in Europe it's simply called "Castlevania") because I enjoyed it, though many didn't. The music is on the whole really good. Curse of Darkness on the other hand I enjoyed on my first playthrough, not as much as LoI though. I wouldn't recommend it because the level design is awful, though the music is great. The controls for me are really stiff. |

i guess I can get LoI pretty cheap but I'm not sure if I'm really interested as the 2D games looks much better :) . PoR's story was pretty poor especially in contrast to DoS' but like I've said I'm not to up on the Castlevania storyline. |
