EDIT - SCHEDULING INFO FOR REFERENCE (copied from my post later in the thread):

FULL E3 SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED BY TWITCH

"Schedule" meaning "what times different presentations will be streaming through Twitch", NOT an exhaustive list of games present, obviously.

Most notably on the Nintendo front, aside from their Digital Event and "new game conference", Nintendo has FOUR slots for presentations of "Unannounced titles". The big question is, of course - what are these? Is Zelda U included (it's technically been announced for development)? Will these games be revealed DURING these time slots, or during the Digital Event? Also, the Digital Event is officially an hour long, but that was pretty much to be expected.

Nintendo is set to score this E3. They've got:

    --1 hour Digital Event (6/10 @ 9am PT)
    --90 minute "new game conference" (6/11 @ 6pm PT)
--4 20-minute "unannounced title" time slots throughout the week
--Live stream from the Treehouse with all kinds of demos and special appearances.
--90 minute discussion devoted entirely to Smash Bros (6/10 @ 7pm PT)
--Their first official Smash Bros Invitational tournament (6/10 @ 4pm PT)
--Best Buy Smash Fest demos throughout the country

Like... if the actual GAMES they show are surprising and interesting (Zelda reveal, eh?), then Nintendo might very well have its best E3 in years.

    Also:
FULL E3 TREEHOUSE STREAMING SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

Including a special appearance by Miyamoto on 6/10! I wonder if they'll be demoing his new game that's been floating around?

That Mega 64 video was pretty good! What games do you think they'll announce? The next console Zelda game has to be there, right? Maybe a new Metroid game? (I can only dream of such a thing!)

Enjoyed the video. I loved how Reggie just went home.

While I do want a new Metroid game, and I feel this is the year to announce a new one, I'm not going to hold my breath. I'll take anything you throw at me, Nintendo. Prime Trilogy HD Wii U port, Metroid Zero Mission for Wii U VC, 3D remake of Metroid Prime Pinball...

I also want more information on X.

This will be the perfect time for Nintendo to announce the release date of Flipnote Studio 3D, right? Right?

Hahaha, Flipnote Studio 3D. I COMPLETELY forgot about that...

    @Zelda
The video above used ALL Zelda music - mostly music from Skyward Sword (Ghirahim's Theme, one of the cutscene musics, Silent Realm chase, etc). It may not mean anything, but... Zelda foreshadowing?

Not to mention that Aonuma has actually come out and said (last fall or so) that they will show Zelda U at E3 2014. So... I think it's safe to say Zelda U will be revealed. And it will be amazing.

I think they would have learned, after Skyward Sword's admittedly underwhelming reveal, how to make a hype-worthy reveal. I'm expecting something pretty fancy.

    EDIT
Also, they keep saying "The one you've been waiting for" - which is the exact same thing they said for Skyward Sword's reveal. It probably doesn't mean anything - and there are plenty of OTHER reasons to believe in a Zelda reveal this year - but still, it's interesting to note.

I'm not a fan of Mega64, but it's cool to see that Nintendo got them on board for the advertising.

    I'm hoping for;

    - Details on X
    - Western Release date for Bayonetta 2
    - Details on Zelda Wii U
    - Actual release date for both Smash titles (not just windows)
    - Pokemon Announcement (whether it be Z, or a remake of Heart Gold and Soul Silver, or maybe Pokemon VC)
    - Information on Fire Emblem X SMT
    - Buttload of VC titles
    - At least one new IP

I really hope the new Zelda game isn't a Skyward Sword or Wind Waker looking game. I love those two titles to death, but I really, really, REALLY want a beautiful, gorgeous, stunning full 1080p Zelda game.

They should have a zelda game announced, It was in The original WII U reveal video, and It looked great! of course from the window they announce it to the actual release date is usually over a year. :(

Honestly, I kind of agree, and I think they'll actually go that route.

I adore Skyward Sword and Wind Waker's colors, but... there really is some degree of truth about these styles not really appealing to the masses. At this point, I think Nintendo knows that Zelda's popularity is not QUITE like it used to be. It's not on a crisis point or anything, but right now it's in a state of a kind of dormant affection - it's not getting near the mass attention that it has garnered in the past (specifically with the more "recent" titles of OoT and TP).

Regardless of what the rest of the game is or does, an art style that uses a more realistic approach has almost inherent mass appeal for a high-fantasy series like Zelda. Personally, I think Skyward Sword's and/or OoT 3D's styles fit the series just perfectly, but it's no "secret to everybody" that TP is the only Zelda game to rival (and arguably surpass depending on how you cut it) the sales of the original OoT.

That's not to say TP sold so much ONLY because of its art direction - not at all! However, it's darn well undeniable that the art direction and overall aesthetic of the game played a significant part in its mass appeal, translating somewhat to mass purchasing.

Nintendo has demonstrated, in the past year or so, a strong understanding of what gets its fans' attentions. I can't imagine them NOT introducing Zelda U with a big, flourishing, grandiose trailer.

Speaking of Zelda, APPARENTLY Hyrule Warriors will be releasing in Japan this summer.

I kinda get a sinking feeling that the West will have to wait until this Fall/Winter, however. Remember how Japan already had a logo for it and everything back when it was initially revealed, and the West just got a title?

But whatevs. We got ALBW a month or so before Japan did, somehow, so what goes around comes around!

I think it's safe to assume they'll show something of the Wii U Zelda at E3 and it comes out next holiday.

Well, I think it's all but confirmed that the WiiU Zelda will be shown at E3 - but a holiday 2014 release date? This is Zelda we're talking about here LK!

Plus... I thought Hyrule Warriors was supposed to be a kind of "tide-you-over" game. I guess if it comes out in ALL regions this summer, then Nintendo might do the unthinkable and release Zelda this holiday... but I'm really seeing Zelda as a more Spring 2015 title.

I meant holiday 2015. There's no way in hell it would come out this year.

They'll announce it at e3, then give us a release date when Hell freezes over, like everything else.
As long as it's worth it in the end though.

SO I HERD U LEIK RUMORZ
(ruby and sapphire are being remade, this meme can officially be resurrected now)

    http://segmentnext.com/2014/05/13/e3-2014-leaked-lineups-uncharted-4-the-sunken-blade-gears-of-war-4-zelda-shard-of-nightmare-and-more/

So... feel free to discuss the NON-Nintendo stuff there as well, but... Zelda: Shard of Nightmare. Oh man, oh man. I still remember before SS was announced. The big rumor was "Zelda: Valley of the Deluge" or something like that - supposed to be a "darker" tale set before Wind Waker. This kinda seems like that...

More important than its name is the indication that it will be PLAYABLE. I suppose ... it's possible...?

Other rumors and "leaks" seem to like the idea of a 3DS Metroid and a Star Fox reboot. It's that time of year again!
