We've already had a few instances with a third party making a Nintendo game (Metroid: Other M, F-Zero by Sega), and we have several instances of third parties carrying out Nintendo franchises on their behalf (Mario Tennis series by Camelot, Basketball/Sports Mix by Square Enix), but what other third parties would you guys like to see tackle a Nintendo franchise? Koei is carrying out Hyrule Warriors (which, visually, looks meh, but the gameplay and lore will be there, and apparently, the visuals have gotten a huge upgrade since we've last seen them), and Atlus is doing SMT x Fire Emblem, but are there any other studios you'd like to see tackle a Nintendo franchise? Personally, I'd like to see a F-Zero title made by Criterion. Open world F-Zero? Yes please. |

An F-Zero game made by Criterion would be sick, but I highly doubt EA would ever let that happen. I would like to see a Zelda game developed by a 3rd party studio. Like, maybe, Team ICO. Or Retro. What about a classic 2D-style Metroid game developed by Drinkbox Studios (the guys who did Guacamelee)? I would love to see that. |

A Sunshine sequel. I don't even care what company makes it. Just someone please make it. I have given up hope that Nintendo ever will. |

Flipping things around a bit, I've always wanted to see what a Nintendo-developed Sonic the Hedgehog game would be like! But as for the actual question... Hmm. I'm pretty satisfied with the direction that most Nintendo franchises are going in these days - except, of course, the ones that are going nowhere because they're more or less dead. So I'd love to see someone pick up Star Fox, or F-Zero like Ice suggested. Or someone could make another Kid Icarus game, because Sakurai doesn't plan on making another one! Yes, I also agree that a proper Super Mario Sunshine sequel is in order. It would be kinda strange for a third-party developer working on a game of the main Mario series, but then again, Next Level Games developed Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. I would love to see Nintendo and Shin'en work on a game together. Shin'en has made some pretty great-looking games, like Fast Racing League and Nano Assault, so I would love to see what they and Nintendo can come up with together. Edit: Woah! In an interview with Edge, Nintendo producer Yoshiaki Koizumi has stated that Nintendo is ALREADY WORKING ON THE NEXT SUPER MARIO GAME! This could mean that they are possibly working on a Sunshine sequel!
