So if you're unaware, a Twitch User has put together a clever little twitch channel that allows any user to input button prompts which will transfer to the game being emulated (in this case Pokemon Red). So basically 60,000 people at a time are playing Pokemon Red and it is AMAZING. They get stuck on the most basic tasks.

From what I gather from Reddit is that they had a Charmeleon and a Rattata but they both got released (like, permanently released into the wild) and they tried to use the Helix Fossil on a cuttable tree like a bazillion times.

I like to check in every so often to see how they're doing. Right now they're stuck in the Team Rocket HQ and will probably never get out.

EDIT: I went to sleep and when I got up they got the Lift Key!

I saw this earlier the other day. They were in Viridian Forest last I saw. Its crazy to see how well that many people work together.

    Well probably isn't the word...

Holy shit, so they beat Giovanni in the Rocket Base in Celadon City... THEN IMMEDIATELY USED DIG WITHOUT THE SILPH SCOPE.

    This thing is amazing.

Guys, it has been slowly dawning on me today just how HUGE this thing is. It's like... one of the most widespread "memes" or Internet sensations I have ever seen. I heard about it last week from a friend in the know... and now it seems like EVERYONE knows about it - both IRL and on all corners of the Internet.

It's... kinda fascinating. The whole set-up, and how it's brought together so many people...

Take note! This right here is something of the spontaneous, communal nature that only the Internet can accomplish! It's quite the sight to behold.

(that said I still haven't actually been to watch it. I'm afraid I'll never be able to leave :s)

Apparently, this little project crashed Twitch multiple times already, and they moved the chat over to a server that's used for large gaming tournaments and such. That's pretty bad ass.

It's pretty crazy, you're right Shroob! A lot of people at my school are talking about it. It's widespread in our age-range.

Right now they're making their way up the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. It's getting tough because most of the moves each Pokemon know is normal type, which can't affect Gastly or Haunter. Their strategy seems to be using Drowsee (The Keeper) for Confusion or Radicate (also known as DigRat) to use Dig.
