Now looking at the title of this topic, you may wonder what Pokémon Origins is. Am I talking about the history of Pokémon? Am I talking about how Pokémon came from Japan to North America? These would be wonderful topics, but unfortunately that is not what I mean by Pokémon Origins. Pokémon Origins is a 4-episode anime special, coming on TV (probably Cartoon Network) on November 15. What is Pokémon Origins about? It is based on the very first two Pokémon games, Pokémon Red and Blue (Pokémon Red and Green in Japan). I, personally, are very excited for this as I have played Pokémon Red, and enjoyed it, despite its lack of color. When I first watched the first season of the Pokémon anime, I was sort of sad, because the story was slightly different than the games. Of course, Nintendo made Pokémon Yellow, but that was just made to advertise the anime. So, it's about time they made an anime special about this. I honestly think they should've done this long ago, maybe before they started showing the Hoenn anime series. But, now that I think about it more, it is good that they are making it now, considering how much the art style of anime has advanced, especially with new HD TVs. If you see the trailer for Pokemon Origins (by the way, click here to see that), you will notice that the characters look very different than they do in the regular anime. This is because Game Freak/Nintendo/The Pokémon Company wanted the characters to look more like how they did in the concept art for the games. ![]() ![]() (Spoiler: Red chooses Charmander )I am really excited for Pokémon Origins, and I really hope it has the complete story of the game, and is entertaining as well. |

I was actually pretty darn excited about this until I found out it was only four episodes. I mean, it's still incredibly cool, it's just... only four episodes :< 'Course, I'd still love to watch it, and I certainly won't complain when I do! :D I really hope this is a huge success, so that they're persuaded to expand it in the future! |

Low-count episodes are pretty common when companies try something "iffy." It wouldn't surprise me if, after the fourth, they immediately start a new one up. Or the next season. It happens all the time with other anime. Either way, I'm digging the way this looks already. |
