Three new Club Nintendo T-shirts are available to members in Japan. The shirts feature designs for Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101 and The Legend of Zelda: The Winder Waker HD and are available for 600 points each. For gamers who purchase and register the respective games, the shirts will be slightly discounted and available for 400 points.

Pikmin 3 and The Wonderful 101 are available now, while The Wind Waker T-shirt will be available starting September 26. There are currently no plans to bring these shirts to Club Nintendo members outside of Japan.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies Will Not Be Getting A Boxed Copy in The West

    Posted Image

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies has been out in Japan for over a month and is not far from being released in the West.

While Japan has a physical copy of the game, 3DS owners overseas will need to make do with a download-only version.

Western gamers were given a beacon of hope when Christian Svensson, who was Senior Vice President of Capcom USA at the time, said he was was pushing for a boxed copy for North America at least. Unfortunately, he has now left the company and the dream of a physical copy more or less left with him.

Indeed, Capcom has now confirmed without a shadow of a doubt that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies will only be available in the eShop in the West.

Speaking during a Q & A session on the Capcom Unity forums, Ace Attorney producer Motohide Eshiro reaffirmed the reason behind the download-only route is so localisation does not take as long, allowing people to get their hands on the game as soon as possible.

Eshiro also confirmed the West will get all the additional costume DLC, despite the quiz pack not making the journey overseas:

"In addition to the pack of three costumes that is already out in Japan, we are working to ensure that western users can also get the additional AA3 Phoenix costume which, in Japan, is part of the quiz DLC that we’ve previously stated won’t be coming to the west due to cultural localization issues."

Gamescom and GDC Europe Hit Record Attendance Levels

    Posted Image

In the past couple of weeks there's been plenty going on in Cologne, Germany, with GDC (Game Developers Conference) and Gamescom attracting industry professionals and fans from around the world. Both events hit new heights in terms of attendances, too, leading the organisers to declare the same host city for next year's extravaganzas.

To start with GDC Europe, an event at which Nintendo gave two major presentations and shared a booth with Unity, 2250 attendees have been confirmed from 56 countries, while "25 countries had at least 10 game developers and businesspeople attending", according to the official announcement. Those numbers are an increase on last year, and relatively high for an event open exclusively to the development community and press.

Gamescom — which is open to the public — hosted major press reveals from Sony and Microsoft, as well as a sizable Nintendo booth that showed off plenty of major Wii U and 3DS titles, and it also hit record numbers. This year's show attracted a massive 340,000 attendees over five days, up from 275,000 last year; that surpasses major events such as PAX Prime in North America in pure numbers.

The organisers have confirmed that GDC and Gamescom will once again share venues in Cologne next year — GDC will take place from 11-13 August, while Gamescom will run from 13-17 August.

Nintendo Unveils New Entry Level Handheld, the 2DS

    Posted Image

The Nintendo 2DS, the latest entry into the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, is set to release in North America on October 12 and will retail for $129.99.

The system will be available in Red and Blue and will feature a slate-like design as opposed to the clamshell design of the Nintendo DS and 3DS. The screens are the same size of the screens on the original 3DS.

The 2DS is able to play all Nintendo DS, 3DS packaged and downloadable titles and maintains all of the online features of the 3DS. The only exception is that games cannot be played in stereoscopic 3D.

    Nintendo Downloads - August 29, 2013

Another week, another download. This time around the titles are few, but they are most certainly quality. I can't speak to Pokémon Rumble U, but every other game you'll see badly summarized below is definitely worth your hard earned coins! Plus, Rayman Legends finally decided to show its ugly mug on the Wii U, but I just can't stay mad at a game that's so happy. Seriously, practically every single creature in the game is singing and dancing.

    3DS eShop Sales

    Bit.Trip Saga - $4.99 until 9am PT, September 15

    Wii U Retail Games

    Rayman Legends - $59.99, Available September 3

    3DS Virtual Console

    Wario Land 3 - $4.99

Oh, what a treat this is! Get ready to take the reigns of the black sheep of the Super Mario franchise in yet another quest for greed and glory. The Wario Land series has had its ups and down, and this is most certainly one of the high points.

    Wii U eShop Games

    Pokémon Rumble U - $17.99

Shake, rattle, and roll your way to victory with this weird mash-up of that football game your grandpa had and the tiny, collectible monsters that you just can't get enough of! All 649 Pokémon make an appearance in this title, which means that it's time to collect 'em all, all over again.

    Wii U Virtual Console

The Legend of Zelda - $4.99

Some games just never die, and with good reason. The Legend of Zelda, the most classic of classic NES adventure games, is making its appearance on the Wii U Virtual Console. Do we all probably already own it a thousand times over? Yes. Is it still one of the best ways to kill an afternoon? Of course!

Mighty Switch Force 2 Coming to Wii U in October

    Posted Image

WayForward have announced that the Nintendo 3DS eShop game, Mighty Switch Force 2, will be coming to the Wii U sometime in October.

The game was rated for the Wii U by the European ratings board PEGI back in July, just after WayForward teased the existence of the port.

The game was originally released for the Nintendo 3DS eShop back in June.

Peter Molyneux Reveals His Favourite Zelda Title Of All Time

    Posted Image

The highly quotable Peter Molyneux has told TechRadar his top five games of all time, and like many seasoned gamers, one of his favourite titles happens to be part of the Zelda series.

However, while many would cite Link to the Past, Wind Waker or Ocarina of Time as the best the franchise has to offer, the former Bullfrog and Lionhead boss has selected Wii launch title (and GameCube swansong) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess:

"I just feel it's jaw-dropping and its use of the hardware was brilliant. And I've played that game through several times."

Molyneux is the man behind such seminal titles as Populous, Dungeon Keeper and Black & White, and has attracted the scorn of many Nintendo fans regarding his views on where the company should go — he insists that the Japanese giant should bring Mario to platforms like the iPad.
