Oh that's interesting. lol Having a fish eye lens view of everything is a bizarre gimmick. That sounds like a bit of a turnoff to me.

Well at least we still got Sonic 3D Blast on the Saturn! :D
    Right? Wasn't that...wasn't that everyone's favorite game?

    ZOMG

Apparently, when you get hit by an enemy or whatever - YOU DON'T STOP RUNNING UNLESS YOU MAKE HIM STOP.

    YES. FINALLY. That is probably the biggest, most residually anticlimatic thing in Sonic games - you've built up so much speed only to BAM get hit by an enemy out of nowhere, stop, collect your rings, start building again. But now you don't have to do that unless you want to stop ;___;

What are you doing getting hit? Obviously that's the real problem.

It's a pretty interesting effect. Combined with Sonic being a 2D sprite, I'm sure it would have made navigating levels similarly... interesting.

And oh man, Sonic 3D. Imagine how disappointing it must have been as a Saturn owner late 1996/early 1997 when you get that and the other consoles get Mario 64 and Crash Bandicoot.

^hahaha Those assholes! Especially when they bust out of the wall.

But if Sonic had better and more finely-tuned movement speed (think: Super Mario World but faster) then it would fix the problem of stopping and losing momentum. Sonic 4 was the worst for this because you would be going super-fast, get hit by an enemy, then take FOREVER to get going again.

Wow yeah this really does look like Sonic meets Mario Galaxy. But it does look kinda interesting. I would be willing to try it. That is if I had a 3DS or Wii U... :(

I would guess somewhere between "very" and "immensely".

And yeah, that X-treme actually does look pretty neat. I think using a fish eye lens is cool in a movie when it's a pov shot and it's only for a few seconds... I don't know about playing a whole game like that though.

"SEGA has unleashed the first details for its upcoming Wii U and 3DS exclusive, Sonic Lost World, after we were recently treated to the game's debut trailer.

Sonic's nemesis, Dr. Eggman, is up to his old tricks again and has harnessed the power of the Deadly Six, six menacing creatures. However, this doesn't go according to plan as they overthrow the evil Doctor, so Sonic must team up with the heavy-set one to destroy the new villains. He'll use new parkour moves and improved Colour Powers - returning from the Colours releases on Wii and DS - in order to successfully defeat the enemies.

As well as a single player adventure, both versions of the game will feature competitive multiplayer modes, with unique features taking advantage of each system's capabilities. The Wii U version allows you to control the Colour Powers by tilting, touching and aiming. It's also playable on the GamePad without the TV, while a two player "support mode" will be included.

The 3DS version will include exclusive Special Stages and Colour Powers unique to the handheld system.

Chief Content Officer of SEGA of America, Hiroyuki Miyazaki, had this to say in the press release:

'We are proud of the strong relationship between Nintendo and SEGA and look forward to continuing success with Sonic Lost World on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

The game marks an evolution of the Sonic series and fans - both old and new - will be excited by a story which sees two of video games biggest adversaries, Sonic and Dr. Eggman, joining forces for the first time to help defeat a new deadly threat.'"

I can't be the only one that hates when video games/movies do this? Sometimes its okay, but most of the time it just bugs me. If they're enemies, make them stay enemies. It would actually be more interesting if they stayed enemies but still were fighting a common enemy. There would be a lot more conflict, which I think would be more interesting. I just feel like when enemies "team up" like that is just becoming a stale concept because it is used in so many movies/games.

I'm okay with it when the villains are pretty much bumbling idiots - like Sonic and Eggman, and Mario and Bowser. Like, I enjoy teaming up with Bowser in the Mario RPGs through those hilarious and convoluted scenario, and I feel like Eggman would be along the same line.

But if Link teamed up with Ganondorf, or something? See, that'd be something totally different.

Obviously, SEGA forgot all the other times Eggman teamed up with Sonic.

Well, of course the screenshots looked good. Their only purpose is to make the game look better than it actually is. The trailer did look nice, though. It has a nice up-res'd Super Mario Galaxy look to it.

I'm pretty sure a screenshot's purpose is to show off what the game looks like. Pre-rendered screenshots these are not. Well, apparently not, anyway.
