I'm not upset about a remake of MM not being annoucned. I never gave the game a fair chance but If I want to play that I already have a n64 version and gamecube version I could play. A new game is way better.

I'm finally excited for the 3ds. This zelda should be good (hopefully I need a good zelda game because I have not liked the newer ones). Mario and Luigi games look great! Donkey Kong Im not sure If i'll like but im going to get it either way.

Yoshi's Island is going to be fucking awesomeeeeeee

This is not what I was hoping for, when an original Zelda title was announced for the 3DS. I'm not a fan of top-down Zelda games, with OoT & Skyward Sword being my favorite entries of the series. I downloaded ALttP awhile ago, but I still haven't had an urge to finally try it out.

I agree with you on the whole remakes thing, but overhead games were great! Alttp was awesome..! ^_^

    EDIT
Apparently a lot of the fanbase is up in arms because this is not an MM remake.

THAT, folks, is why you do not listen to everything your fanbase says!
To be honest, that's pretty much what I wanted too. Handheld Zelda games haven't been quite on form since the GBC.

However, that doesn't mean I'm not about to blow your minds.

That is quite a striking similarity :o Dunno if it means anything, but it is very cool nonetheless.

I'd personally say Spirit Tracks was great, but I DO understand your sentiment about handheld Zelda since Minish Cap. By the looks of this thing, though, that all could change! If they can keep the sense of exploration/discovery and difficult, balanced combat from ALttP intact, I think we've got ourselves a sure-fire great game here.

Really, the main reasons WHY I didn't want an MM remake are that it would be coming directly after the OoT remake (two remakes in a row?), and that such a focus on console-style Zelda on a handheld could spell the doom of top-down Zelda, at least for a good while. I'm glad top-down Zelda will live on; I think there's quite a bit of fresh life in it yet. Also, I gotta admit, the top-down perspective will look really neat with the 3D effects :o

    @Nintendo
You should give ALttP a try! I think you'd like it quite a bit - in fact, IMO SS has a kind of ALttP feel to it. I'm not sure which top down Zelda's you've played, but it's one of the absolute best.

Ugh, wall-drawing thing, so gimmicky. I love Nintendo but wish they could get through a new game without adding a gimmick. I'll probably still buy it anyway, don't have much else to play for my 3DS. Also can not wait for new AC.
I agree with you to an extent AJ, but New Leaf is one of the last games that's pushing the envelope in terms of new and exciting gameplay features.

I think the wall drawing is an awesome idea - it quite literally opens a new dimension of depth to game play. It's not using a boat or using the stylus - it's adding a new mechanic into Link's arsenal. I can imagine it being used for clever puzzles, or for dodging enemies. It's no different from sprinting in SS, or gliding in WW, or the light/dark world in LttP - a new movement mechanic. I wonder if it costs magic to do, or if it'll be unlocked during a dungeon, like an item.

I'm also pretty excited for that movement game in the Guild collection, Minis on the Move, and Bravely Default. Not so much for DKR3D.

Oh, and I'll get Mario Party for sure if it has online play.

So if anyone was bummed out about before that the game was too similar to the original A Link to the Past, one of the bosses is Moldorm. Fuck Moldorm.

Was Moldorm a hard fight? I remember it just being a case of run around like an idiot and slice at every part of it until you were lucky enough to whack his tail.

But Rebecca, do you mean to tell me that you don't enjoy nearly killing a boss then getting knocked from the teensy tiny platform you're both on to the bottom of the dungeon, where you must then traverse through like 20 screens to get back to the aforementioned boss, now newly rejuvenated, only to then repeat the whole process a few hundred times??
Something must be the matter with you...

Fuck Moldorm. Stupid ass butt, he is.

Moldorm is nothing hard. Hell he was downgraded to first boss status in Link's Awakening V:

Except in Link's Awakening he was a total pushover and if you got hit there wasn't the potential threat of having to run through every square inch of the dungeon again.
That shit made me pull my hair out.
