Starting Summer this year, you will be able to make 3D Flipnote drawings for FREE. "Flipnote Studio 3D's feature is just that. The ability to draw Flipnotes in 3D. The structure is simple. By arranging three different layers, and then simply adjusting the 3D depth, you can easily create 3D Flipnotes." Flipnote Studio 3D will have 6 colors instead of just 2 colors. Flipnote Studio 3D also allows you to save your animations as a .AVI file to your SD Card so that you can share them online on websites like YouTube. ("Furthermore, Flipnotes can be made into animated AVI files, making it easy to share your creations on social networks or video-sharing sites.") Flipnote Studio 3D will also have 3 community services. Flipnote Gallery: Friends Community service among friends - Make comments and rate each other's flipnotes - Download and save your favorite flipnotes Flipnote Gallery: World Interaction with other users from around the world - Available for a small monthly fee ("that will help cover the cost of maintaining the servers and service operations") - Free 30 day trial - Free access available on select dates Now some of you may be bummed out that Nintendo's charging us for sharing our flipnotes with the world. However, there is a way that you can do this without having to pay. Suppose you are using the free trial for Flipnote Studio: World. If you share flipnotes and get consistently high user ratings, your next month on Flipnote Studio: World will be free! Bad news for DSi owners: The current two Flipnote Hatena online communities will cease operation on May 31. They will be replaced with the two Flipnote Studio 3DS online communities.
