What do you mean by "Nintendo"? The actual developer (who makes Mario platformers, Zelda, Pikmin, Star Fox), or the publisher (who publishes everything like Pokemon, Kirby, Mother, Fire Emblem, etc. but has second/third-parties develop them)?

In either case, this reeks of looking for a cheap excuse to knock on Nintendo - lack of variety or new ideas or some such rubbish. Now, I'll admit that Nintendo has its fair share of faults/shortcomings, but this is certainly not one of them. Developing new games in old franchises is in itself no way indicative of a lack of creativity or "stagnation," to use such a buzz word, and one only needs to play a handful from the most recent string of new releases from old franchises to see this.

But then again, maybe that's not why you asked :p

Hello, btw, Nicholas - it's been a long time :D

Don't use words to avoid the question! I meant the actual developer.

Well, let's go through it like this:

Pushmo is a new franchise developed by Intelligent Systems (Nintendo subsidiary), and an awesome one at that. Chrashmo is the sequel. Both released to critical success and popularity.

Then Monolith Soft, as subsidiary of Nintendo, introduced Xenoblade Chronicles, which released to surprising popularity and incidentally is getting an amazing-looking sequel/continuation.

And then GameFreak, another subsidiary as you know, created the game "HarmonoKnight," or something like that, which was totally original (though I'm not sure if they'll make more like it).

Nintendo, as the developer of Mario/Zelda/Pikmin/StarFox/Etc hasn't introduced any new franchises in the past 3 years. Hopefully they will pretty soon, though, as Miyamoto is now working on his own projects with a new team they put together (meaning he's no longer simply overseeing creative development of Zelda/Mario/etc). We should know by E3!

Aside from these, they've published a good number of new, exclusive 3rd party IPs - Mutant Mudds (being continued), Pandora's Tower, and The Last Story, to name a few.

Sorry to somewhat drop a bomb on the subject, but if this topic has any relation to any downfall of the company, Then it is not "series" that keep a company afloat, it's variety, after all if you look back at classics like Adventure, And warlords, The main character was a square. And they entertained me just as video games were meant to!
And Nintendo has made many great and fun titles despite their lack of "character originality"

But to answer your question ahh I can't really name any. But I'm not bothered. I got all my favorites tucked in my drawer so I'll take whatever they throw at me. :)
