Don't say that too loudly; you'll be run over by the 48 cars at my school with this hunting decal on them: Spoiler: click to toggle I feel like they are starting to run out of names for the Pokemon. Some of the 5th generation was a stretch name-wise, in my opinion, but I totally understand that, after 650 of them. The release of a new generation is just exciting. ^ lol, I don't mean any abrasiveness or defensiveness by this, but the first gen names were pretty "they've run out of names" too - I mean you have stuff like Grimer, Ditto, Koffing, Weezing, Mr. Mime, and so on, and then you even have a few that are just real life things spelled backwards, like Ekans, Arbok, But then 4th gen Rotom is spelled backwards as well. Every gen has some pretty dumb/cool names (depends on how you look at it). Though the more recent ones certainly are more... outlandish. |

If you'll excuse me I'm just going to verify those claims. New Pokémon choices though?

I can't wait to see the final evoultions of these pokemon. I'm hoping for a dual typing. Just not fire/fighting. Maybe Fire/Psychic? Fennekin looks kind of mystic.. |

It'd be pretty cool to see some really out-there joint type starters. Chespin's got some serious claws, so either grass / fighting, or grass / steel would be cool. Froakie would seem like a good excuse to bring in water / poison, but I can see them going with another water / ice. |

Small update! And that is that there will BE an update, this week! They've said on their little weekly Pokemon show in Japan, Pokemon Smash, that next week's show will reveal new X/Y stuff (also movie stuff), BUT CoroCoro scans will certainly be leaked before that. Sooo... maybe Wednesday, something like that, expect some juicy new X and Y information straight from the presses! Predictions or anything? I doubt it will be anything TOO huge (like starter evolutions or the next legendary), but maybe some "random" Pokemon revealed? I'm guessing we'll see this gen's Lucario/Zoroark, you know, the "cool" generation mascot. Edited by Togeshroob, Feb 10 2013, 01:56 PM.

I don't want to see random Pokemon. I don't like knowing what all the Pokemon look like before I play the game, it's more like a surprise that way when you encounter them in the game. I don't mind knowing what the starters look like before hand but I don't want to know what their evolutions look like before playing the game, at least not the Pokemon I choose. I want to see these things for myself as opposed to seeing it first on the internet. |

They usually only show 5-7 pokemon before the actual release of the game, and that's including the pokemon that inevitably show up in an anime or movie special. I'm not too concerned. I'd rather see random pokemon than legendaries, though. |

I'll welcome any announcement. I tend to only pay attention to the official announcements anyway - I never go online the day of/few days after the game to read any spoilers. I'm with Pyroll, I like to experience it first-hand. But I severely doubt Nintendo themselves are gonna ruin it. |

Strong Pokemon, weak Pokemon; that is only the selfish perception of things. Truly skilled trainers win using their favorites. ![]() Thank you, Joe, for the awesome signature! The YouTube Collab Playthrough channel that I participate in - The Bit Buds! | |

Yeah, I'm totally with you Pyroll. I played Black and White blind, having only seen a handful of the new Pokemon, and it was a fantastic experience that ultimately (among other things) made it into my favorite Pokemon region and series. Who would've thought that random encounters could be so much fun? So yeah, I'll only see the starter lines (so I can accurately decide), and then just A FEW of the random Pokemon (like region birds or whatever) to whet my appetite. @Ice You bring up a good point - they usually reveal a Pokemon that shows up in a movie/anime special. The news coming up is being revealed in tandem with the upcoming Movie 16 with Genesect. Considering how, according to Pokebeach's WPM (who would know), the February issue of CoroCoro usually reveals a "wow" factor related to the movie, I bet you that we'll see what 6th gen Pokemon is starring. I don't like seeing even a few of the random Pokemon because the game I played last, which was Diamond, there didn't seem to be many new Pokemon, so even seeing a few would spoil it. So many old ones. That's one thing that was so great when playing the first game in the series, all the Pokemon were new. I don't really like seeing old Pokemon when I play a new Pokemon game. I don't know why the old ones always have to be in every new game. Maybe it's because they don't want to take the time to design as many new ones.

^ You should have played Black/White! There were all new Pokemon - another 150 or so of 'em. Not even Pikachu was catchable until after you beat the game. It was really a great experience, akin to the first games when EVERYTHING was new. |

Well then dammit. I should have bought Black instead of Diamond. |
