    X, Y, and Z! Like 3D coordinates :p

You're justified in feeling that gen 5 just got here, Meta - it did. This has been the shortest gen (along with the first I guess). It's because they decided to put Black and White on the DS. They wanted to make sure they used the DS's hardware to its full extent - thus Black and White. But even at the time they already had 3DS development kits, so they've been playing around with how to best use the 3DS hardware - thus, hopefully, X and Y. But in releasing B/W on the DS, any future game on the 3DS that WASN'T super new and exciting would totally steal the thunder of something that WAS super new and exciting (like X and Y now). This is also probably why 5th gen never so Ruby/Sapphire remakes. So it's kind of a predicament.

But yeah, after gen 5 nobody is guaranteed a third game anymore. Gamefreak has been throwing curve-ball after curve-ball pretty recently.

No kidding. It's quite awesome though.

@LK- lol Yeah I was joking because it seems pretty obvious the third one will be Z.
Pretty weird to think about the titles. I don't know about you guys but when someone asks me what I'm playing I usually say the particular version, like "Emerald" or "Emerald version". It's gonna feel strange saying "Oh I'm just playing some Y."

This isn't it, but what if they did sequels like BW2 but called them XX and XY. Cause like you gotta keep going with the DNA sequence. Then there would be a whole game for girls only! HaHA! But then trans people would feel left out so meh.

Or like Pokemon ATCG and GCTA or something. Do DNA sequences that actually code for things in our body. Pokemon Polymerase!

    Back to the customization deal...

I'd love to customize the player character, even if it's just clothing. And I wouldn't even mind if more and more clothing becomes available as you complete things...such as obtaining gym badges or hitting certain marks on completing your Pokedex. So as you progress, more options are opened to mix up your appearance.

If you're talking about the starters I think that Froakie looks neat.

    He is adorable.

When he evolves though he will probably look lame.

I dunno; based purely on first form appearance, Froakie IMO has the most potential to have an awesome final form. His design now seems to most naturally and easily call for expansion and growth along the same lines, I mean (like, the fluffy clouds being incorporated, the nose hairs might grow, etc).

And funny you say that Del; surprisingly enough, these starters have been extremely well received by the fanbase at large. Remember when Black and White was first revealed? Pandemonium. People were in uproar because they thought the starters were absolutely horrible. There was a similar (not quite as strong) reaction with Gen 4. But now... across the Internet, the general consensus - even by many long-time, since-gen-1 fans - is that these are some of the best starters since gen 1.

And while few can rival the confounding glory that is Snivy, I'm inclined to agree.

I agree with this. I honestly think these starters are the best ones. I like them more than the first gen starters.

I think the Water Frog will look much cooler than the Water mud fish. Either way, their last forms usually look the coolest. There's usually one lame looking final evolution per generation (Venasaur, Meganium, Swampert, Torterra, Emboar), so we'll see.

    OFFICAL LEGEND ART REVEALED

    Yveltal

    Xerneas

Man, they look so good in this art. They look so... natural. They have a whole different feel from the other recent "mecha-looking" version legendaries. Kinda more like Ho-oh and Lugia instead of, say, Dialga and Palkia.

Also with this art I can totally see the theory of "Yveltal represents death, Xerneas represents life" being true. They made Yveltal look really quite dark, and made Xerneas look quite noble and pristine.
