Four Brand-New Pokemon, the New Region, and Official Package Art Revealed for the First Time

When Pokemon fans begin their thrilling 3D adventure in Pokemon X or Pokemon Y this October, they will be transported into an entirely new region called Kalos. A mysterious place that is shaped like a star, Kalos is a region where players will encounter beautiful forests, thriving cities, and many never-before-seen Pokemon. The central city of this breathtaking region is Lumiose City, a metropolis featuring a tower that is set to become an iconic structure in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.

While exploring the Kalos region, Trainers will encounter many new Pokemon that they can battle, catch, and add to their Pokedex. A Trainer is only as good as the Pokemon he or she befriends. Seven new Pokemon debuting in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y were introduced earlier this year—and today, four additional Pokemon are being revealed for the first time. These Pokemon add to the more than 640 Pokemon that have been encountered in previous games.

The cowardly Pokemon Helioptile, a Normal- and Electric-type Pokemon, can generate enough electricity through sunbathing to power machinery. But wise Trainers won't be deterred by Helioptile's lack of bravery. It knows Parabolic Charge, a brand-new move where Helioptile attacks everything around it. Helioptile's HP is restored by half the damage taken by those hit.
Fletchling, a Normal- and Flying-type Pokemon, sings with a beautiful chirp that is sure to delight any Trainer. Although it is known to be very friendly, Fletchling will suddenly unleash relentless attacks once it's in battle. For example, when it uses its Fire-type move Flame Charge in battle, in addition to doing damage, Fletchling's Speed increases every time.
With a leaf always in its mouth and an intimidating glare that is rarely effective, Fighting-type Pokemon Pancham shows its playful side when it lets out a little smile when its head is pat. Pancham can learn a brand-new move, Parting Shot, which not only lowers an opponent's Attack and Special Attack, but also allows Pancham to switch out for another Pokemon in a Trainer's party during battle.
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y introduce a new method of transportation - riding the brand-new Pokemon, Gogoat. This large Grass-type Pokemon is a reliable way to travel certain parts of Lumiose City. In battle, it can use Horn Leech to recover HP equal to half the damage dealt by this move.
These brand-new Pokemon and others caught in the Kalos region will be added to a player's Pokedex that, for the first time, will be divided into three unique areas within the region. There is much to explore in the Kalos region, and many Pokemon to encounter when Pokemon X and Pokemon Y debut worldwide this October. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months!

Yeah, I'm pretty excited. I'll likely get Y, and Alani will get/I will make her get X. Depending on the exclusives, of course.

If those rumours are true (the ones Ice posted) then... man. So good!

I hope to god that they don't make the fire starter a fire/fighting type. I would die.

I'm getting X. The legendary looks like the spirit of the Forest from Princess Mononoke.

    Some more rumors!
    Quote:

    - Fairy will be a new type weak to Poison and Steel, immune to Dragon, super effective against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting, and Fire and Psychic-type Pokemon take half damage from it.
    - Sylveon is Fairy-type. Some older Pokemon will be reclassified to Fairy, such as Mawile (Steel/Fairy).
    - Mewtwo has two new formes, not just one. Both are activated via items.
    - The professor's English name is Patrice.
    - The Starter final evolutions are Fire/Psychic, Grass/Fighting, and Water/Dark.
    - The first Gym is Bug, the second is Fairy, and the fourth is Fighting.
    - A few attacks will be dual-typed.
    - There will be a new type of battling style that Flying-type Pokemon and Pokemon with Levitate can participate in.
    - You will be able to see a Pokemon's EVs at a certain in-game facility. You will be able to boost the EVs through mini-games. It will take about two hours to get one stat to max EVs.

Well now, that seems interesting! And finally, no more Fire/Fighting!
You got that from Pokemon Equality's Facebook page, didn't you?

    Dude I KNOW right?

I think I'm gonna stop looking at the spoilers. I know enough to be super excited, but I don't want to ruin any more. Which is too bad, 'cause ya'll are gettin' hil-ar-ious in here.

Aw. Until fall, Pokemon X, Y.

And I shall do the same. AFTER I see the starter evolutions, just so I can make my choice with certainty, and not go through the first part of the game in utter fear of what my starter will evolve into ;o

Aside from that, I've seen all I want to see -

    --I know around 10 Pokemon
    --I know the region's name
    --I know the player characters
--I know a few new features
--I know that it will be amazing

    I'm pretty much ready!

Ha. Except that it doesn't have a frightening old man looking face.

And yeah, I'm with Ice. That Y legendary looks siiiiiick. Plus Ice wasn't it you that said you don't find animals with antlers aesthetically pleasing? Whoever said that I agree completely. They look awkward.

    New Info About Chespin:

"Chespin is very curious, which leads to it getting in trouble. It isn't concerned about small details. It is able to learn Tackle, Growl, Vine Whip, Rollout, and Leech Seed."

It's curious. I can dig it. I think Chespin is my favorite of the starters. So freaking cooldorable.

I've gotta say, I'm pretty surprised people like the frog one as much as I've been hearing. Provided I haven't seen much of it (as I'm kinda sorta trying to avoid a bunch of spoilers) but I thought it looked pretty unappealing. Definitely my least favorite of the three.
