    Did anyone watch the mini-trailer they put out? I was more impressed by how the game looks during battle scenes. It has a nice Wind Waker-like cel-shaded look. Super-impressed.

    I wonder if you'll be able to skip the animations and such. It certainly looks cool, but I'm sure it'll extend the game time. Bad news for speed runners.

    They've always had the ability to skip battle animations, why change it now?

    The only animations I've ever wanted to have skipped were the weather conditions. A skippable text of 'The sun is shining bright.' or whatever it is will suffice.

    Always tl;dr

    Or like the fact that it was mentioned literally 15 seconds ago. I didn't forget, just tell me when it wears off please...

    OR it can just, you know, be raining/hailing/etc in the battle screen! We can simply SEE it and know it's there. Just tell us when it starts and stops, maybe.

    But yeah; won't be skipping animations.

    @Battle speed
    They made it a pretty big thing in the 5th generation to make battles much faster, with fast animations, fast-moving HP, and fast text descriptions. I don't think they'd take that step back. I bet the animations will still go at a fast pace, and probably on average won't be much, if any, faster than they are in BW.

    This stuff makes me so excited :D
    I think battle animations are gonna be really fluid - meaning that it'll flow a lot like it does in 5th gen. And seeing as how AWESOME it all looks so far, I don't think it's gonna bother the majority of people.

    I agree with the weather conditions. Give us one text saying it's starting and then have it constantly raining, sandstorming, etc. Then tell us when it's over.

    I really want a Pokemon revealed that's not an evolution or form of a Pokemon we already have. Don't get me wrong, I really want some new evolutions, but lemme see something new, goshdarnit!

    @Battle Speeds
    I definitely hope so. I don't think you won't be able to skip it - I just hope we get some more stream line options. I definitely like how the DS games (the more recent ones, anyway) let you get to your items on the bottom screen. I think it'd be cool to map certain items to certain buttons - you aren't using them, anyway!

    Button mapping would be cool, but if I'm not mistaken it'd really only work with the L and R buttons, unless of course they give L and R a function in the new games. Every other button has a function as it is in the fifth gen. Y actually pulls up a "Registered" screen, in which you can quickly access any item or screen that you have registered. For instance, I registered my Dowsing Machine, Town Map, Bike, and Medicine Bag, so when I want to quickly access them, I just press Y, then select whichever one. So it's KIND OF like a button-mapping - it's just all in one place.

    So maybe instead they could simply map the really important items (like the Xtranceiver or whatever is in X/Y) to buttons like L or R, or even let them have their own buttons on the bottom screen like OoT 3D's Ocarina button.

    Oh! Well in that case, A is Fresh Water, X is Soda Pop, Y is Lemonade, B is Poke Ball, and I'm set!

    SO

    The latest rumor swimming around is that of, no, not a Light type but a Fairy type! Yes, apparently some guy who has leaked some shockingly accurate information before (particularly about the B/W Pokedex) has leaked the addition of a new Fairy type (which I supposed could be localized as Light type). I think the idea is more like 'fey' or 'otherworldly' rather than, you know, Zelda fairies or whatever. Sylveon, of course, would be Fairy type.

    I mean, I STILL don't think they'd actually add a new type this late in the game, but... I can't deny that Sylveon is a dead-ringer for a Fairy type ;o

    I read that, too. I don't know - adding a new type this late is possible and all - and it would be cool, but imagine the rebalancing. They state Clefairy would be reclassed, which makes sense and all, but they also said Togetic - who already is dual typed. They'd likely drop the normal typing, which, unless fairy has the same weaknesses/resistances as normal, would SEVERELY change the meta game. Togekiss is a well known sweeper.

    And supporter and pseudo-wall and everything else. Da Kiss can do anything :o But yeah, and Celebi? That would seem a shoe-in for "fairy" type, but then it's not as easy as just sticking the typing on (like with Clefairy) or changing Normal to Fairy (like with Togepi).

    Really, though... aside from the retroactively-typed Pokemon possibly changing roles/usefulness, I think they could pull it off. I mean, there ARE some types that have obvious advantages over most other types... Rock, Ground, and Fighting are easily the best move-types, and Steel and Dragon are pretty overpowered in their resistences/immunities/advantages (hence why Dragons and Steels are often paired with a type that gives them a double weakness - so they actually HAVE a check). And then types like Poison and Ice kinda have the shaft. Ice MOVES are great, but Ice types? They're so fragile with so many common weaknesses that it's almost never a good idea to use an Ice type in competitive play. And really, everyone knows that the only Poison move is Toxic Spikes!

    I mean, it all works real well, but I do think some of the types are better than others. Anyhow, I do think they could balance in Fairy somehow and still maintain a strong, working - albeit changed - metagame.
