I don't understand how this would be any different. Still I would be very happy about it, but it sounds like something that would have been nuked a long time ago. It's not like NoA just hates the series or something; their decisions (well, the decisions of NoJ) about bringing Mother games over have been very well-informed and business-smart. The only hurdle will be copyright issues in EarthBound, and IIRC there are really one two or three major things in the game that warrant change, as judged by Nintendo themselves. Meaning not too much work and not too much damage. And the thing is, it's not even just EarthBound in the picture now. It appears as if they're bringing back the entire series - which puts the entire series up in the air for a Western release. I don't think they'd let some easily changeable things in ONE game out of three stop them from making money (and I would think that it is fairly clear that there is now a western Mother market).

Fans of the games talk these games up like they're some of the best games imaginable, but they don't end being very good when I finally sit down to play them. I didn't really like Super Mario RPG so I'm not getting my hopes up for anything Earthbound related.

I guess it's just the unique experience that makes people praise the games I do think they're exaggerating a little bit at times though
