Hi, I'm trying to get my daughter interested in the wii (she's 4), but she is really not very good with the controls!!! Is there a game where two players work together on the same screen - so I can do most the work, but my daughter feels like she is jining in too? A nice friendly game though please - nothing too violent lol! Thank you! |

Actually, if you like Mario games, Mario Galaxy 2 is a pretty good idea. The game has a second player function where the other person points at the screen and collects starbits, stops and if they shake the wiimote, kills enemies, and other things if you can stand to see the cursor for it all over the screen. Once you get used to it being there it's not that bad. And as a Mario game it's not too violent and very interesting looking for a kid to watch. |

Don't you agree, Zach?

You could always try the LEGO games. I don't know if the controls would still be too complex for her, but they're still pretty simple. You play together on the same screen though and it doesn't matter how much you die (in my experience, that's been a blessing when playing with young inexperienced gamers). |

Both Super Mario Galaxy and the Traveller's Tales LEGO games are great ideas! In Galaxy one player can play as Mario while the other players can help collect star bits. The LEGO games are also pretty kid-friendly and are also tons of fun with more than one player. She would have to control a character in the LEGO games, so be aware of that. Personally I would go with either the Harry Potter or Batman LEGO games, but there's also Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones. |

Speaking from personal experience, when I was about 5 I always just enjoyed watching my dad play games like Super Mario 64, that's actually how I got interested in video games. I'm not sure what your daughter's attention span is like, but maybe if you play a couple appealing games that she enjoys watching she'll get interested in it. The Super Mario Galaxy games were a good suggestion. But as far as co-op games that you'll both enjoy, Kirby's Epic Yarn is a perfect choice. It has two player co-op, it's relatively easy and simple, the visuals are interesting for someone of that age group and it's very child friendly as far as content goes. Also I think you'll have a good deal of fun as well.

I'd say try out Elebits - it's a pretty simple "hide and seek" style game that I'm sure your child will love playing with you. And it's not as if you both have to be super good at it either - as long as one of you know's what you are doing, you'll be able to advance. |

The first thing that came to mind isn't actually a Wii game, but the GCN game Mario Kart Double Dash. You can have her character ride in the back and you can "coach" her to throw items and other stuff while you do most of the racing. You can make it like a team activity. I know that's what I used to do with my younger sister, although she was a bit older than your daughter. You could maybe play games like Mario Party and set her on your team or give her a nice handicap. New Super Mario Bros. 1&2 may be good co-op games, as well. |
