Note that this presentation is exclusively for 3DS, DS, and Wii. That means no Wii U announcements. It will be airing 9:00 PST on Nintendo's facebook page. That's 11:00 tonight for us here in CST.

    http://www.facebook.com/Nintendo/app_450592088292858

After and during the presentation I will post my thoughts on announced games or content. My major hope for this is that they announce a release date for Nintendo network, which is supposed to be launching along-side Wii U.

EDIT: Oh, and Namco-Bandai is working on Smash Bros. 4. I think I read that right... right?

I'm not sure either, it just looks so awesome... Plus how cool would it be to have TWO 3DS's?

Usually they start the gen with the bigger version and than go to a smaller version, not the other way around.

    Interesting.

(Temporarily closed. ...Gwaargh!) *doo wee doo wee doo*

I gotta admit, the idea of bigger screens (which will make those high-resolution images look infinitely better), especially a bigger bottom screen, is extremely tantalizing. But... I think that, at least for now, it'll take a holiday bundle with Layton or Animal Crossing to get me to buy one.

And so, the NA name is Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. Figures they'd make it "and the Adjective Noun." 'Mask of Miracle' was too different :< And these games are coming later every year! Unwound Future was in September (IIRC), Last Specter was in October, and now Miracle Mask is in November.

You think that 800 × 240 resolution is going to look better stretched out? It's already a poor resolution to begin with, and making that bigger seems kinda dumb to me. They should've increased the resolution a little bit.

Hopefully DS games can be played in all of their glory now, because on the 3DS they are either stretched out or too small. Luckily I held onto my DSi XL to play DS games. :)

Here's that review I wrote the other day:

    -BFB Sponge

Last night Nintendo scheduled a surprise "Nintendo Direct." They finally came swinging with the big guns, giving us a look at what's in store for 3DS. Their E3 presentation was mainly about Wii U. With no signs of the 3DS anywhere at E3, this "Nintendo Direct" left fans feeling excited with showings for 2013 and the immediate future of 3DS.

The video started at 11:01 PM, opening with Reggie announcing the 3DS XL.The 3DS has an improved viewing area of 3D images and is 90% larger than it's predecessor. The "Start, Select, and Home" buttons have been changed from a bubble design to digital buttons. The 3DS XL seems to have an overall matte finish and is more rounded and ergonomic than the 3DS. It will come in Red/Black, Blue/Black, and White color schemes.

Next, Nintendo announced that Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U has been in development by Team Saro and Bandai Namco ever-since Kid Icarus was finished earlier this year. No release date has been announced but I would except a 2013 Winter release on both platforms.

It was also announced that New Super Mario Bros. 2 will have paid DLC. Also, you will be able to collect coin-rush maps via streetpass. This game also marks the first time Nintendo is offering a digital download and a physical boxed item for a game.

A new game, Adventure Time: Hey Ice King Why'd you Steal our Garbage? was announced for Nintendo 3DS. Fire Emblem was also confirmed for 3DS release in 2013. Also, the 3DS Professor Layton game was confirmed for a North America release. Among all of this, Nintendo has announced an E-shop sale called "8-bit Summer Sale." Where there will be two new E-shop titles added to the E-shop every week, and older games will be discounted. Here's a list of the games coming to E-shop this summer, courtesy of IGN.com:

July 5: The Legend of Zelda (NES) – 3DS Ambassadors will be able to upgrade to this new version from their previously downloaded freebie editions from last year, and doing so will activate Restore Point functionality (and a nicer Home Menu icon).

July 12: Kirby's Pinball Land (Game Boy) & The Sword of Hope II (Game Boy)

July 19: Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters (Game Boy) & Tumblepop (Game Boy)

July 26: Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (Game Boy)

Not Dated Yet: Sonic Blast (Game Gear) & Sonic Labyrinth (Game Gear)

    [Source: IGN.com]

Super Mario Land is on sale this weekend only for $2.99, which is a dollar off of it's regular price of $3.99.

Despite all this amazing news, fans have noted that the 3DS XL doesn't have a second circle pad. What's up with that? Personally I do not feel that one is needed and Mr. Miyamoto stated that he feels the hardware is fine as-is.

If you missed the presentation, you can watch right here below this post! Thanks for reading, please leave a comment for any additional news or errors mad ein this post.

What was your favorite thing announced at the Nintendo Direct? Whatever it was, it probably should have been announced at E3. This presentation was hands down much better than E3, and there's another one tonight! I won't be able to watch it, but I will give you guys updates and where to watch it at! Game on!
