Both are very great games! It's a toughie to pick which one. I would honestly pick Pokemon heartgold, especially if you've played previous Pokemon games before. It has great replay value, and there's tons of stuff to do. However, if your not the Pokemon type, or you don't battle or do competitive battling with Pokemon, I woudn't recommend to get it. Kid Icarus is a fun action game where you can shoot monsters and beat levels. Replay value may not be so great, but the storyline and gameplay will pull you in. All in all, it really depends on which types of games you like. In my opinion, I would suggest Heartgold. Kid Icarus is great too, but you can always save up for that later. Good luck! |

What types of games do you play most, LOZ97? If you like rail shooters that test your reflexes, such as the Sin & Punishment games, I would suggest KI. Kid Icarus also has a light-hearted localization that's pretty entertaining. Its controls are a little awkward, though, at certain points of the game, depending on where you are and what you need to do. If you're a Pokemon die-hard or general RPG fan, then it would be hard not to recommend the Pokemon remakes to you. I could not give a personal testimony of how good a game HeartGold is, but I have some friends who are diehard fans and loved those remakes. |

Hmmm, it would be hard for me to say which one would suit your gaming tastes better, then. It sounds like you'd be happy with either one.

It seems that you really like rpgs or games similar to rpgs like Zelda, in that case I would get Pokemon. Kid Icarus isn't an rpg, it actually has a lot of 3rd person shooting, along with melee attacks, but a lot of shooting. Have you played Pokemon before? Doesn't sound like it. If your new to it and haven't, I'd say Pokemon. I'm really tired of Pokemon now but if I had to choose which is better between Pokemon Blue, which was the first Pokemon game I played and KI, I'd choose Pokemon Blue. Also, you say this is the first game you're buying. With KI's controls, which aren't great, again, I say go with Pokemon and get KI later. KI is a good game though, so get it eventually. Pokemon is obviously better. Nothing from the Kid Icarus franchise trumps a Pokemon game. |

Since they're two different genres, I agree with Prof. Oak. If you like RPG Games more, you should get Heartgold. If it's action/adventure, buy Kid Icarus. |

By that do you mean any game to bear the word "Pokemon" in the title? Because the original Kid Icarus trumps Pokemon Trozei, Dash and half the other spin-off games. ![]() Also I've not played the new Kid Icarus, but you can't go wrong with Heart Gold or Soul Silver. Those games practically age like wine and they're full of content. Edited by MetaZora, May 19 2012, 12:53 PM.

I would get Kid Icarus. If you enjoy RPG games then why not branch off and try an on-rails shooter? Heartgold is cool and all but it's not the game I would get to test out my 3DS. I'd go with Icarus. |

I agree with MetaZora. There's no explanation necessary.
