Game publishing giant Electronic Arts is set to take on Valve's Steam with the launch of its own digital distribution platform, dubbed Origin. According to a report on the Wall Street Journal, the new service functions as a single store and gaming platform on the PC that will let customers "purchase, download and keep track of" their games.

Anybody got Origin? If you do, what do you think of it? If not, why not?

I personally don't see a benefit to using it at the moment because I find Steam has a better service. I'm still curious as to what EA does with the service, though.

I have the Origin Beta client and it kinda sucks. It's exactly like the EA Download Manager but a little better? I guess? Steam blows it out of the water, easily.

I don't like Spending Money on anything that isn't tangible unless It's Either A Game Card Or an Iphone App.

There are so many limits to what you can do with it all.

Besides that, EA Has almost Every game on CD ROM. So it seems Pointless.

Steam Is better. We all Know and Love Gabe
