    Most and Least Favorite Controller

So what's everyone most loved and hated controller?

Personally my favorite controller is the Xbox 360 controller. The size is perfect, the analog sticks are nice and tight and are in great positions, the face buttons are in the right area where my thumb can press them without a problem, and the triggers are very tightly configured. The only thing I don't like about them? The D-Pad is fucking terrible. They supposedly fixed the problem with the new transformable D-Pad but I've never tried it myself.

I also really like the SNES controller. It was the perfect evolution to the NES controller with two new face button and shoulder buttons, too.

My least favorite controller is the PS3 controller, for sure. Not only is the left analog stick in a dumb position but both sticks are way too loose and they protrude too high. The L2 and R2 buttons are dreadful as well. Why did they decide to make the squishy? Pressing them hurts my figures after a while. The last-minute implementation of the Sixaxis controls was ridiculous as well.

Another controller I never cared for were the giant, original Xbox controllers. At the time my hands were freakin' tiny and I couldn't reach all of the buttons. Not only that but the damn thing was incredibly uncomfortable. I hated the black and white buttons, too. I'm glad they moved them to the top of the 360 controller.

Stock controllers, right? Because if not - there's a 360 remote (from PDP, I think?) that has an updated, adjustable D-Pad that doesn't blow ass. You should look into it - it's pretty comfortable, considering the original.

I really, really, really like the Classic Controller Pro. NOT the original, this one. It's super comfy - the buttons are perfect, and the analog sticks are super smooth, yet clicky - it works fantastically for the games that support it. The only problem with it is that you have to plug it into the Wii remote, which is less than ideal because it dangles. I think there's a third party clip out there that attaches it to the Wii remote, but that does make it heavier. Other than that though - it's awesome.

I really like the GC remotes L+R triggers, too. Not really the rest of the remote, but the triggers are smooth and deep, and they have an excellent sense of feedback. The rest of the remote is pretty standard, and it's far from my favorite, but I really do dig the triggers.

My least favorite is, bar none, the original Xbox remote. That thing was just...unmanageable. When I first held one I was much younger and it felt like I was holding a Frisbee.

    I can agree.

I don't really have a least favorite controller, mostly because I've only used a few. But I can agree the 360's controller feels just right.

My favorite would have to be 64 controller. I like the feel and the look. :)

As far as least favorite, I don't really have one. I've never had a controller that hasn't worked for me. Well, besides the knock-off controllers like MadCatz that my parents always bought. I hated those. :P

I don't know why, I liked the Dreamcast controller for some reason. It's design, similar to the N64, but in a way that inspires me.

My least favorite... Atari Jaguar, I'm surprised no one has said that one.

My favourite would have to be the Xbox. Everything feels really tight and in tune, and all buttons are accessible at any point in the game.
Least favourite? Without a doubt, the Atari 7800. The thing broke within seconds of use.

I remember seeing a topic like this once...

My favorite controller was, and still IS the N64 controller. I like the grip and how it feels when I hold it. Also, three handles lets me alternate positions between time to time.

My least favorite controller would have to be the Commodore 64 controller. I used this controller when I was a child and I HATED it. The joystick was kinda hard to push, there's only one button to go with the joystick, and you have to be VERY specific with the joystick, or else you go in the wrong direction or something like that.

Personally, I never had problems with the Xbox controller. I liked it's size because in my honest opinion, the bigger it gets the better it is. That, AND my hands are kinda big. I never complained about the black in white buttons, since I barely used them. But my friends also thought it was too big so I just bought one of those small Xbox controllers at GameStop (back then before they stopped selling original Xbox games/products). I mean after all, how else am I supposed to play Conker: Live and Reloaded? =P

And wow, It's as big as a slim PS2. I still love it, though!

Fo' real? D: The big problem with the Dreamcast controller is the wire came out of the bottom, meaning it was rubbing against you all the time The triggers were excellent, but that's really all I can say for it.

My favourite is the Xbox 360's controller. It's sensitive, ergonomic and pleasing in every way. Still no match for a keyboard and mouse though, by a looooong shot. Least favourite is the original DualShock. So unresponsive and with massive analogue dead zones. Blech.

Isn't there a little notch in the back of the controller that you can stick the cord in to fix that?

Actually, If you take a closer look at these pics, you'll find that the Dreamcast controller looks more like the original Xbox controller.

    See, here's the Dreamcast controller:

    And here's the Xbox controller:
