Okay, so ever since last month, every time I open Skype, it crashes and lags like hell. I ALMOST ALWAYS get this pop-up everytime I open Skype that says "Sorry, Skype has encountered a problem", and then I get two choices, both say "Wait for the program to respond" and "Close Skype". Well, I choose to close Skype, so I can re-open it, but when I choose to close it, another pop-up appears saying "We are trying to fix the problem with Skype" or something like that. And I'm like "I don't want it to fix the problem, dammit! I just want Skype to close!", but for the hell of it, I just wait for it to fix the problem. After 10 minutes of finally fixing the problem, it decides it hasn't found a way to fix it, and it just closes. Dude, I wanted it to close like 10 minutes ago! The next time Skype crashed, I chose to wait for the program to respond. It had been 30 minutes of waiting. I decided to go to bed, and the next day, it had still been waiting for the program to respond, so I just turned the computer off.

Is this happening to only me, or is it happening to everyone else, too? Does anyone know what's happening to make it be like this, because it has to happen to everyone else, because I'm using a brand new Windows 7 laptop that's barely 4 months old! Plus, my internet isn't slow, either.

It's likely a problem with Skype, not your computer. When was the last time you updated Skype? I know that the Skype on my netbook wasn't up to date, and I was encountering similar problems. Try uninstalling it, downloading the newest version, and installing it. You should still keep all of your contact information, as your contacts are tied to your account name, not the program itself.

Thanks. I was wondering why, because I haven't updated it since the day I downloaded it onto my laptop.
