    Burst link!

Your disc reader might be messed up in your Wii. Can you play anything else?

Have you tried using a disc cleaner on them, just to make sure they are actually in "perfect condition"? Because I think that might be your best bet.

Metroid: Other M is a dual-layer disc, like Brawl and Metroid: Trilogy. It's possible that the laser on your Wii is still functional, but it's effectiveness has worn down. (In other words - it'll run Single layer discs, but not dual layer ones.)

Do you own Super Smash Bros. Brawl, or any other dual layer discs. If so, do they still work?

    Hi
Thank you for replying. I didn't know Metroid Other M was a dual - layered disc. This sounds like it could be the problem. I don't have Brawl or Metroid: Trilogy to test on the Wii , do you know of any other games that are dual - layered so that I can test it?

Unfortunately, I do not. There aren't many Dual layer Wii games to begin with, though. It just so happens that Other M is one of them:/

When Brawl launched and Wii's couldn't read them, Nintendo began doing free repairs. Trying calling Nintendo of America and see if they'll clean the lens or replace it for you. If not....I'm not sure what to say. I know you can buy kits to clean it yourself, but opening the Wii will void your warranty. Your best best will probably be calling Nintendo and informing them of your problem, and then asking them if they'll replace it for you.
